A sector-leading manufacturer of complex engineered components supplied to the aerospace, defence, and high technology industries is seeking a Lead Engineer to join their team. You will play a pivotal role in defining technical requirements, developing manufacturing processes, designing new machinery & tooling and ensuring successful New Product Introduction. Key Responsibilities Manage a team of Engineers proving guidance, direction and coaching. Develop existing and new tooling designs manufacturing methods to improve efficiency and product quality. Investigate non-conformances with a view to establishing the root cause and implementing changes. Provide subject matter expertise to the customer and develop solid long-term relationships. Define, manage, and validate product requirements and acceptance criteria. Be the company customer point for NPI & manufacturing programs. Produce Engineering drawings. Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external partners to drive system design, development, and delivery. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the engineering lifecycle. The Person Degree or equivalent qualification in a STEM-related discipline. A good understanding of precision engineering processes (machining preferred but not essential). The ability to lead mechanical design work packages. Previous experience working in a highly regulated sector (aerospace and/or defence preferred). Demonstrable experience in applying mechanical engineering for various products along with different stages of a product lifecycle. Experience in using Solidworks or other 3D modelling software. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence across the business.

Due to new projects, a sector leading manufacturer of specialist vehicles has a new vacancy for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team on a contract basis. Working on a number of new R&D projects you will design innovative packaging solutions for electrical systems and components that form a critical part of the new product design. Candidates are sought with experience in a similar role gained in a highly regulated industry (automotive, aerospace, defence, energy, etc). The Role Design and develop electrical enclosures, panels, and packaging. Produce detailed drawings, BOMs, and documentation for manufacturing. Work in partnership with electrical and electronics design team to develop new solutions. Ensure compliance with relevant standards Support Design for Manufacture reviews to optimise manufacturability and cost. Work closely with manufacturing to ensure viability of manufacture. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems. The Person Relevant design experience of packaging and modelling of electrical assemblies and components. Previous experience working in a complex and highly regulated industry (aerospace, automotive, rail, defence, etc). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Experience using Solidworks preferred. Strong verbal, written communication skills- including report writing and presentation.
