ASL Technical are recruiting on behalf of a leading global automotive manufacturer, seeking an experienced vehicle mechanic with experience of modern car electrics, electronics and diagnostic tools to work on the development of future Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) as a Test and Development Technician to join their UK engineering team. This exciting role involves hands-on vehicle preparation, instrumentation, testing, and validation of cutting-edge driver assistance and diagnostic systems. Key Responsibilities Prepare, build, maintain, and instrument vehicles in line with engineering standards and procedures. Carry out testing in dynamic driving conditions to capture accurate and reliable data. Support evaluation and issue identification in close collaboration with Test Engineers. Set up instrumentation including cameras, radar, and ADAS logging systems. Acquire and analyse data, compiling reports to support engineering teams. Assist with harness fabrication/repair and interpret technical drawings. Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver projects on time and to high quality. Skills & Experience Required Strong knowledge of vehicle assembly, disassembly, and maintenance techniques. Minimum of 3 years driving experience with a full UK licence (LHD/European driving experience and additional driving qualifications advantageous). Familiarity with vehicle CAN bus systems and fault-finding. Experience with Vector CAN tools desirable but not essential. Knowledge fo vehicle electric harnesses for problem diagnostics and repairs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint). Strong organisational skills, able to work independently and to deadlines. Flexible and willing to travel at short notice for up to two weeks (with travel commitments expected to increase). Key Deliverables High-quality preparation, instrumentation, and maintenance of vehicles in line with Nissan Engineering Manuals and local processes.
