Job Description As a Senior Business Development Manager (International Parcels / Freight) you will be at the forefront of our growth strategy, focusing on identifying new business opportunities and nurturing client relationship. The role will report into our UK Freight Sales Director and you will be responsible for the following areas of responsibility across the United Kingdom: You will target account and sales revenue growth across the UK with the international parcels and air freight courier markets, alongside the generating a wide range of revenue from B2B and B2C sales. Strategic Development: Crafting and executing innovative business development strategies to penetrate new markets and expand our customer base. You will analyse competitive landscapes and identify trends to position our services effectively. Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring our solutions meet their expectations. Regular check-ins and proactive communication will be key to fostering loyalty and satisfaction. New Business Acquisition: Actively prospecting and pursuing new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events. You will identify key decision-makers within target organizations and create tailored proposals to win their business. Market Analysis: Conducting thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growth. You will leverage this data to refine strategies and capitalize on opportunities ahead of the competition. Sales Presentations and Negotiation: Preparing and delivering compelling presentations to prospective clients that clearly outline the value of our services. You will also negotiate contracts and agreements to secure profitable deals while maintaining strong client relationships. Industry Networking: Representing the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance our brand presence and identify new business leads. Building a robust professional network will be crucial to your success. The Ideal Candidate The successful Senior Business Development Manager (International Parcels / Freight) will have an expansive background in international parcels, courier, or freight & logistics sales and will have the following skills & experience: A passion for sales and business development, ideally with 5+ years' experience in freight forwarding or logistics. Past experience in international parcels, courier, or e-commerce logistics sales ideally within a large organisation. The ability to generate large scale monthly revenue from new business, alongside a proven track record in international parcels, courier or air freight sales. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships through face-to-face or virtual contact. A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to work fully remotely in the UK, with the desire to travel to a head office function, either Heathrow, Manchester or Birmingham once a month. This is for a new role as a Freight Key Account Co-ordinator in Nottinghamshire! Client Details My client is a SME freight forwarding business, with huge ambitions for growth, in the freight & shipping industry. You will be joining a fast-pace environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & solution driven. Job Description As a Freight Key Account Co-ordinator you will report in to the Freight Key Account Director on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Nottinghamshire office: To provide service updates on international multi-modal freight shipments via air, sea and road freight. Provide key account customers with daily updates around their shipments - including OTIF delivery and KPI's for their SLA. Process KPI reports for shipments, discrepancies and amendments. Investigate and resolve any missed shipments in line with key account expectations and the company SLA. Monitor, update and produce key account files and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office applications Monitor and analyse all billing and invoicing for the key account customer. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have an expansive mixed background in either the key account world or the freight forwarding & logistics industry. The ideal Freight Key Account Co-ordinator will have the following skills and experience: 2+ year's experience in key account management, freight forwarding, or logistics OR a graduate with a desire to join the logistics & freight industry - which would also be strongly considered. Ability to build long-lasting customer centric relationships. Excellent customer service experience. Proactive with a high attention to detail - who is a natural problem-solver!
