Labourer / Fabricator / Warehouse Operative Salary £26,395 per annum (£12.69 per hour) Job Type Full-time Temp 2 Perm 12 Weeks Working Hours Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm 40 hours per week Role Overview We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Labourer / Fabricator / Warehouse Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on role working within a busy warehouse and fabrication environment, involving steel pipe processing, goods handling, and general warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, have a strong work ethic, and take pride in maintaining high standards across all tasks. Key Responsibilities Working with steel pipe, including cutting, threading, and grooving Goods In and Despatch management Picking, packing, and dispatching orders using courier and warehouse systems Sorting, replenishing, and organising picking locations Loading and unloading delivery vehicles Putting stock away and carrying out cycle counts Labelling, storing, and handling goods correctly Checking, reporting, and recording any damages or quality issues Maintaining warehouse and yard cleanliness and hygiene Carrying out basic health and safety checks and inspections Occasional heavy lifting as part of the role Some driving duties may be required Skills & Experience Previous machinery or fabrication experience is advantageous but not essential Full training will be provided Ability to work confidently without supervision Good attention to detail and organisational skills Strong awareness of health and safety A proactive and dependable attitude Requirements Full UK Driving Licence preferred Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling Benefits Company pension scheme 25 days holiday per year

Job Title: Glass Manufacturing Operative Job Purpose To support the production of glass products by operating machinery, handling materials, and carrying out multiple manufacturing processes safely and efficiently. The role requires attention to detail, physical fitness, and the ability to work night shifts after initial training. Key Responsibilities Operate a variety of machines and tools involved in glass manufacturing, including cutting, polishing, edging, toughening, and finishing processes . Handle, move, and load raw materials and finished glass products, often involving heavy lifting of items up to 30kg+. Follow technical instructions, production schedules, and safety standards to ensure products are manufactured to specification. Conduct quality checks on glass at each stage of production to identify defects or imperfections. Safely operate lifting equipment, suction lifters, and manual handling aids to transport large glass panels. Work with the production team to meet output targets while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Follow strict health & safety procedures , including wearing appropriate PPE and adhering to manual handling regulations. Report machine faults, defects, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately. Keep work areas clean and organised in line with 5S/lean manufacturing principles. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting ways to improve efficiency, safety, or quality. Requirements Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or heavy-duty manual work (glass industry experience preferred but not essential; full training provided). Physically fit and capable of safe heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot defects or inconsistencies in glass products. Willingness to work night shifts (10:00pm - 6:30am) following completion of training. Must be available for initial training on day shifts (6:30am - 3:00pm) for approx. 4 weeks before moving onto permanent night shifts. Good teamwork and communication skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing priorities in a busy manufacturing environment. Working Conditions Manufacturing facility with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy materials . Night shift role: 10:00pm - 6:30am . Initial training: day shifts (6:30am - 3:00pm) for approx. 4 weeks . PPE provided and must be worn at all times. Manual, physical work requiring stamina, precision, and safe handling techniques.
