About the Role Our client is seeking a driven and experienced Sprinkler Design Engineer to lead the design of sprinkler and fire-suppression systems from concept through detailed design and hand-over. Your expertise will contribute directly to the safety and compliance of major building projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities Design engineered automatic sprinkler systems for a variety of building types (commercial, logistics, retail, industrial) in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., BS 9251, BS EN 12845, FM Global). Produce detailed design drawings, hydraulic calculations, layouts and specification documentation. Collaborate with architectural, structural and M&E (mechanical & electrical) disciplines to ensure integrated and coordinated design solutions. Utilise CAD and Revit/BIM tools to develop and manage sprinkler system models and design packages. Conduct site surveys and inspections to gather design data and support installation/intervention reviews. Provide technical input and mentoring to less-experienced engineers, promote best practice and drive design quality throughout projects. About You Degree (BEng/MEng) in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience. Proven experience within a consultancy or design-led environment focusing on fire protection / sprinkler systems. Strong knowledge of sprinkler design standards (BS 9251, BS EN 12845, LPC, FM) and hydraulic design principles. Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and hydraulic calculation tools. Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
