Job Description: Site Engineer Location: Somerset Area, Taunton, Chard etc Type: Permanent / Contract / Temporary Role Overview: We are looking for a Site Engineer to start working with one of our clients on various projects. The work can vary from bridge replacements, culvert replacements, deveg schemes etc. Works can be anything from a couple of weeks through to long term projects, so you would be expected to travel between the sites. Key Responsibilities: Site engineering Establish the level and survey control for contracts Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time Produce procurement schedules for the jobs and liaise with our procurement department to ensure site has adequate resources to complete the tasks Produce ITPs and Task Briefings Produce 2 week look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent Produce Site Diaries and Allocation Sheets Key measures & targets: Accurate and timely setting out of the works Timely handover of works and Quality records without outstanding defects Production of accurate records, drawing registers and weekly diaries Person Specification: The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria: Essential Previous experience of setting out on civil engineering projects Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station or EDM instruments Degree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in civil engineering Excellent communication skills Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook Desirable Experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office Temporary-works co-ordination CSCS card Cable avoidance training First aid training NEBOSH or IOSH If interested, please apply and one of our consultants will call you back.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing civil engineering works within the water sector. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage site operations to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients. Manage site documentation, reporting, and progress tracking. Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety briefings. Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to project specifications. Project Overview We are seeking experienced Groundworkers to join a major water treatment upgrade project. The works involve groundworks, pipework, ductings etc. This is a live Thames Water site, requiring strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities Carry out general groundworks including excavation, trenching, and reinstatement. Install and connect pipework systems around sludge tanks to specification. Prepare and pour concrete slabs and bases for tanks and associated structures. Assist with fabrication and installation of handrails on tanks and walkways. Operate small plant and tools safely (e.g., breakers, mixers, compactors). Read and interpret technical drawings and site plans. Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. Essential Requirements Valid CSCS card (essential). Thames Water Passport (preferred or willingness to obtain). Proven experience in groundworks , pipework installation , and concreting . Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. Relevant plant tickets (e.g., CPCS/NPORS for Excavator, Dumper, Roller). Confined Space Training (advantageous). First Aid, Manual Handling, and Safety Awareness certifications desirable. Own transport to site. Desirable Skills Experience on water treatment or utility sites. Knowledge of sludge treatment processes. Welding or fabrication experience for handrail installation.
