Job Title: Communications & Change Contractor (FM Experience) Location: Birmingham Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Communications & Change Contractor with a strong background in Facilities Management (FM) to support a high-profile transformation programme. This role will play a critical part in driving engagement, supporting behavioural change, and ensuring clear, effective communication across operational and corporate stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver a comprehensive change and communications strategy aligned to programme objectives Create engaging, audience-focused content across multiple channels (e.g. intranet, email, leadership briefings, toolkits) Partner with FM operational teams to translate complex changes into clear, actionable messaging Conduct stakeholder mapping and manage communications plans across diverse groups (site teams, suppliers, leadership) Support change impact assessments and readiness activities Facilitate workshops, briefings, and engagement sessions Monitor effectiveness of communications and adapt strategies based on feedback and data Ensure consistency of messaging across all FM sites and functions Required Experience Proven experience in change management and internal communications within large-scale transformation programmes Strong background working within Facilities Management (FM) environments (hard/soft services, estates, or workplace operations) Demonstrable experience supporting operational or frontline workforce change Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels Strong writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities Experience working in fast-paced, complex environments Desirable Skills Familiarity with recognised change frameworks Experience in outsourcing, mobilisation, or FM transformation programmes Knowledge of digital workplace tools (e.g. SharePoint, Teams, engagement platforms) Personal Attributes Proactive and self-driven contractor mindset Adaptable and comfortable navigating ambiguity Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills Results-oriented with a focus on delivery
