Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Location : Northampton NN7 Salary: £40 k to £42 k Shift: Monday- Friday DAYS 07:30-17:30. Annual leave: 24 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays The role: We are looking for a hands on mechanical maintenance engineer, (70/30 Mechanical bias ) with proven hands on manufacturing experience. The role will be primarily reactive Mechanical maintenance engineer with an element of pre-planned electrical maintenance. The role will include supporting c.30 production units (extruders, printers & converters). Mechanical knowledge. We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to carry out PPM and Reactive Activities to a key position in Northampton . The Mechanical Maintenance engineer would be expected to assist with various reactive and Mechanical PPM tasks, as well as other duties around site. The applicant is expected to be mechanical biased and have a strong multi-skilled background within the Manufacturing warehouse industry. Job Description/Duties: Electrical fault-finding PPM's and Reactive maintenance Building Services tasks Working as part of a maintenance team to deliver a great service to the Plant /site Emergency light testing Changing lamps AHUs PPMs Basic plumbing Fire alarm testing The successful candidate needs to be: Comfortable working in fast paced environment. To maintain, service and repair all plant machinery to minimise production down time. Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings: A critical skill requirement for this position is the ability to understand and work with technical drawings. Provide technical support on all projects, installations, and breakdowns. Must have 2 years Multi skilled maintenance engineering experience Can be mechanical with electrical certified . Responsibilities Carry out polishing of new painted panels, ensuring all dirt inclusions are removed and the overall finish matches the original factory finish Removing scratches and correcting minor paint work Ensuring that all Company documentation is accurately completed, and that all Company procedures are followed Planning and managing time effectively to meet deadline and ensure workshop efficiency Training new staff when required Skills and expertise Previous experience in a similar role (essential) Full UK Driving Licence (essential) Willing to support junior techs and offer support/expertise when needed. You will be passionate to work within the motor industry and take pride in their work, to the highest standards of work set by customers You will need to work independently on vehicles and have experience to make decisions when required Excellent attention to detail
