Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and cook meals in accordance with residents' dietary requirements, preferences, and portion control guidelines. Ensure menus are varied, seasonal, and comply with nutritional standards for older adults. Prepare specialist diets (e.g. soft, diabetic, vegetarian, allergy-specific) as required. Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, food handling, and infection control in line with Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations. Monitor and record food storage, stock rotation, and temperature checks. Work within budget guidelines for food ordering and stock management. Ensure meals are served on time and presented to a high standard. Liaise with care staff to understand residents' individual dietary needs and feedback on meal preferences. The role involves carrying out general maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and health & safety checks, ensuring compliance with regulations and contributing to a comfortable living environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out day-to-day general maintenance tasks across the home, including rooms, bathrooms, flooring, and communal areas. Undertake basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks (e.g., fixing leaks, replacing fittings, repairing furniture, minor wiring or lighting issues). Support refurbishment projects, including redecorating rooms, replacing flooring, and upgrading facilities as required. Conduct regular health & safety audits and checks (e.g., fire alarms, emergency lighting, water temperature monitoring, equipment checks). Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and safety compliance. Respond promptly to repair requests and ensure minimal disruption to residents and staff. Monitor stock levels of maintenance supplies and order replacements when needed. Ensure the home's grounds and external areas are safe, tidy, and well-kept.
