We're looking for a warm and dedicated 1:1 (SEN) teaching assistant to join our supportive team at Lift North Thorseby. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you'll provide tailored support to an individual pupil and (at times) small groups, and contribute to a calm, purposeful learning environment where every young person feels safe, seen and supported. This role will predominantly be a one to one support role, however flexibility to work across the school is required at times. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting a child on a one-to-one basis or at times in small groups during focused activities Encouraging language development through play, songs and conversation Observing and recording progress, feeding this back to the class teacher Supporting personal care needs with kindness and dignity Helping to create stimulating, well-organised learning spaces Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families and staff Promoting good behaviour, emotional well-being and a sense of belonging Skills and Experience we would like to see: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous Experience supporting within a school setting Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc Understanding of child development and how children learn A flexible, proactive approach and a genuine passion for primary education UK right to work, as this role is not eligible for sponsorship This role has been created to support a specific child. If that child moves on from the school, the contract may come to an end earlier than expected. We value the skills and dedication of our teaching assistants. To support the best outcomes for our students, we require applicants to hold at least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification; ideally Level 3.
