An exciting opportunity for a Controls and Automation Engineer is available a growing manufacturing company in the Newcastle area EXCITING ROLE The role will involve integrating sensor, machine learning and predictive analytics systems, managing electrical control and instrumentation projects, supporting the maintenance team and drive the adoption of digital industry technologies such as IoT, AI, ML etc. You will contribute to the strategic engineering roadmap and train maintenance staff on machine control systems. You will also interpret, generate, and manage electrical engineering drawings and documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, SLDs, cable schedules, load schedules, IO lists, test schedules) and lead cross-functional project teams. YOUR SKILLS A Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automation, Control Systems or Mechatronics is preferred although good experience in a dedicated role of this field will also be considered. You will need to be familiar with BS:th Edition and have a good knowledge of PUWER, ATEX, EN IEC and BS EN 60204 standards. Experience with control systems (ideally Siemens TIA Portal or similar), motor control systems (MCCs, DOL, VFD, soft start), automation simulation software (ABB, Yaskawa etc.) and network protocols (PLC and LabVIEW) is needed. A skilled Electrical Design Engineer with experience of designing Transformers, Switchgear or other Power Transmission and Distribution equipment is sought by a growing engineering company in the Leicestershire area . About The Role In this pivotal role, you'll contribute to the design of electrical equipment for industrial applications. Your responsibilities will include implementing electrical best practices, adhering to industry standards, and collaborating with the design team to create innovative solutions. The successful candidate should have hands-on design experience and a solid grasp of electrical engineering principles, along with basic knowledge of mechanical design. Principal responsibilities include: Participate in research, development, and product testing Review design requirements and produce design calculations and production documentation Apply relevant design, regulatory, and industry standards. Produce electrical wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical and corresponding component layouts. Oversee the CE marking process on new designs including performing DFMEAs. Conduct technical investigations, perform root cause analysis, and initiate corrective actions. Provide technical support to Production, Sales, Service, and Customer Support. Deliver projects on schedule and within budget, managing a complex workload efficiently. Identify and apply new industry-wide processes within the company. About You The ideal candidate will have several years electrical design experience, preferably some with machinery design and ideally be qualified to degree level in electrical engineering. You will need experience of designing in accordance with IEC 60204 and IEC 61439, the product CE marking process and DFMEA. A high level of competency with Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical is required and some experience of a CAD software package such as Autodesk Inventor, Creo, Siemens would be an advantage. A Contract Site Quality Engineer with a strong background in Electrical Engineering and Infrastructure / Construction projects is sought to work on a series of ongoing projects The initial project will involve providing on-site support for upcoming Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and the close-out of Inspection Test Plan (ITP) activities across Saltley for electrical installation. You will also raise WIRs on the system, issue invites, and manage QA evidence online.
