Overview We are seeking dedicated and compassionate support workers to join our expanding team across Winchester, in providing high-quality care and support to children aged 16-18 in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people, ensuring their well-being, and fostering a nurturing environment. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to enhancing the lives of the children in our care. Responsibilities Provide direct support and supervision to young people, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Implement individual care plans tailored to each child's needs, promoting their personal development and independence. Foster positive relationships with young people through effective communication and engagement. Maintain accurate records of young people's progress and updates. Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive team environment that prioritises young people's needs. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills relevant to working with young people. Experience Previous experience working with children is essential; experience in a residential or childcare setting is highly desirable. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting children as needed. Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs is advantageous. Strong communication skills are necessary for effectively interacting with children, families, and colleagues. Basic IT skills are required for maintaining records and communicating within the team effectively. Pay Pay will be from a scale of minimum £13 per hour, increasing dependent on experience and seniority. Sleep in shifts are paid at a rate of £45 per sleep in. Ongoing weekly overtime is available. Hours Currently we are looking for part-time staff who are able to undertake at least one sleeping night shift per week (8pm-8am) in addition to at least one week day shift from 10am-4pm on Monday or Friday. There are no daytime hours required on weekends or bank holidays however there are sleeping shifts available every night.
