Quality Control Engineer / Advisor Responsible for the management and delivery of quality assurance on Overhaul projects on-site and if necessary, workshop delivery in close collaboration with site Project Management and Work Package Managers on authorised work packages. Supports the development of QA/QC procedures and contributes towards business improvement during outage delivery. Conducting Quality walks on different suppliers and working areas amongst the On site Overhaul scope. Key Responsibilities Responsible for day to day management of the Project QA system including ensuring that the technical standards are met. Support the Work Package Managers (Project Engineers) in executing inspections and producing brief project reports. Carry out the assessment of OEM or contractors quality procedures and their implementation. Evaluation of the quality measures taken by contractors and ensuring proper execution. Communication of deficiencies towards work Package Managers and follow-up of corrective actions. Make available and Follow-up of Inspection Plans (ITP) . Reduce the cost of quality - through reducing re-work and improved reliability and availability post outage. Avoid additional costs by ensuring that future work/ troubleshooting duration is minimised by key readings/measurements being documented. Ensure OEM and contractor work meets requirements per standard or by contract. Working with the Programme and Project Management team as they are responsible for producing a Project implementation that meets the Project requirements. Supports the project team in monitoring and advising on technical delivery. Ensures work is carried out safely and to appropriate standards. Reporting daily about works progress in terms of quality aspects. Participating in RWE Overhaul meetings for reporting. All work carried out safely, on time and to quality standards. Knowledge and Experience 1. Significant experience in quality assurance and quality control and their practical application to the delivery of power station maintenance. 2. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of overhauling gas and steam turbines, pumps and gearboxes and balance of plant equipment in general. 3. Experiences in Repair and erection works of Piping and Valves according to code, preferably EN. 4. Significant experience in Welding and NDE techniques which are generally used in power plant applications, such as TIG, SMAW, UT, PT and MT. Qualification as welding inspector or at least qualified in visual inspection. 5. Qualified to HNC in relevant Engineering Discipline and working towards or has Membership of a relevant professional body 6. Demonstrates the ability to deal with fast changing situations. Attention to detail is essential; methodical, and well organised. It is essential to act autonomously and self driven to bring the quality aspect forward during the Overhaul. Nonetheless, close collaboration with Project team is requested. Adherence to teams priorities. 7. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the practical application of Health and Safety legislation, regulations and directives defined by RWE. 8. Values and behaviours - developing the business culture through engagement and encouragement with all staff within their teams. Establishes good working relationships with station team 9. Demonstrable experiences with handling of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
