The Role: Head of Fire Safety We are looking for a Head of Fire Safety to lead the strategic growth and technical excellence of our fire safety division. This is a national leadership role that brings together technical authority, regulatory assurance, client influence and commercial insight. As the group s most senior fire safety specialist, you will set best practice across the business, shape the development of new and enhanced services, and ensure we maintain the highest standards of compliance and innovation. You will play a key role in scaling our fire safety offering from £50m to over £200m over the next five years, supporting both organic growth and strategic opportunities. While this role is advertised as Stratford, London, we are open to the successful candidate being based from other locations nationally, with flexibility to travel as required. Working in a fast-paced environment, you ll play a key role in planning and scheduling repairs and maintenance works, ensuring operatives time is used productively while delivering a high-quality service to residents and clients. You ll act as a central point of communication between residents, operatives, supervisors and client teams, helping to keep works moving smoothly from start to finish. What You ll Do Provide excellent customer service to residents, handling enquiries, bookings and appointment changes. Plan, schedule and manage repairs and maintenance works efficiently, maximising operative productivity. Allocate and update jobs using scheduling and job management systems (e.g. ROCC, DRS, Opti-time). Work closely with supervisors and operatives to coordinate daily workloads and optimise routes. Manage emergency and priority works appropriately, escalating to out-of-hours services only when required. Monitor work in progress, ensuring jobs are progressed and closed within target timescales. Ensure operatives are correctly using and updating PDAs and digital systems. Act as the key communication link between residents, operatives and client teams. Maintain accurate records, notes and job updates across all systems. Support the wider scheduling team, providing cover during absences where required. Skills, Knowledge & Experience Essential IT literate, with confidence using scheduling and job management systems. Excellent telephone manner and communication skills. Experience in scheduling, planning, administration or high-volume customer service/call handling. Desirable Experience within social housing, repairs or maintenance environments. You will take full ownership of site safety, quality, programme and client satisfaction, coordinating internal teams, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, on budget and to the highest standards. This role operates within occupied properties, so strong leadership, organisation and resident-focused delivery are essential. Key responsibilities Plan, programme and coordinate the work of operatives and subcontractors to ensure works progress efficiently and are completed in line with contract requirements, while minimising disruption to residents. Take full responsibility for site health and safety, particularly within occupied environments. Identify and control hazards including scaffolding and access equipment, PPE, temporary services, asbestos, dust, fumes, site tidiness and waste management, and working safely around vulnerable residents. Monitor and inspect works in progress to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Identify, record and resolve defects and snagging throughout the works. Maintain accurate site records, including daily site diaries detailing visits, meetings, observations and actions taken. Provide reports as required by the Contracts Manager, Commercial Manager or client.
