LV Energisation / Commissioning Engineer Brief Project: Bristol Arena Project Location: Bristol, UK Contract Type: Contract Role Overview Responsible for the safe energisation, testing, commissioning and handover of low voltage electrical systems including LV switchboards, sub-main distribution boards, final distribution boards and associated electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure all systems are tested, commissioned and energised in accordance with project procedures, manufacturer requirements and UK regulations. Typical Duties Inspect, test and verify LV electrical installations prior to energisation. Support the energisation and commissioning of LV switchboards and distribution systems. Carry out dead testing and live testing activities where authorised. Complete commissioning documentation and test certification. Prepare switching schedules, isolation procedures and commissioning records. Coordinate with project managers, electrical supervisors and client representatives. Assist with fault finding and resolution during commissioning activities. Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and project-specific safety procedures. Suitable Job Titles Authorised Person (AP) Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Commissioning Engineer Electrical Commissioning Engineer Test & Inspection Engineer Electrical Testing Engineer Essential Experience Experience with LV switchboards, MCCs, panel boards and distribution systems. Previous energisation and commissioning experience on commercial or industrial projects. Experience producing test documentation and commissioning records. Strong understanding of electrical isolation and safe systems of work. Experience working on large construction, infrastructure, data centre, healthcare or industrial projects. Preferred Qualifications City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. ECS or JIB Gold Card. Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience advantageous. HNC/HND Electrical Engineering (desirable). CSCS/ECS card and relevant site safety certifications. Suitable Backgrounds Candidates are commonly sourced from major M&E contractors, commissioning specialists, data centre projects, healthcare projects, manufacturing facilities, utilities and large-scale commercial developments.

High Voltage (HV) Specialist / HV Commissioning Engineer Project: Bristol Arena Project Location: Bristol, UK Contract Type: Contract Role Overview Responsible for supporting the installation, testing, commissioning, energisation and operation of High Voltage electrical systems. The role will work alongside the project team, DNO/utility providers and specialist contractors to ensure all HV works are completed safely and in accordance with UK regulations and project requirements. Typical Duties HV cable installation, jointing, termination and testing. Support metering and substation interface works. Carry out or supervise HV switching and energisation activities. Relay protection testing, calibration and commissioning. Prepare and review switching schedules and RAMS. Coordinate with DNOs, utility providers and client representatives. Ensure compliance with UK electrical and safety regulations. Provide technical support during commissioning and fault-finding activities. Essential Experience Experience working on 11kV and above electrical distribution systems. Previous involvement with substations, switchgear and HV infrastructure. Experience of commissioning, energisation and testing activities. Knowledge of UK electrical standards and safe systems of work. Experience working on large commercial, industrial, infrastructure or energy projects. Preferred Qualifications HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred). Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience. Relevant HV switching authorisations. National Grid, DNO, utility, renewables, rail or data centre experience advantageous. MEP Technical Talent is recruiting on behalf of our client who are looking for an experienced and proactive Administrator to join their busy Southport office. You ll be supporting both office operations and field technicians, ensuring the smooth running of jobs, compliance, finance admin and customer communications. Our client is a rapidly growing mechanical & electrical contractor that specialises within Fire & Security. This role would suit someone highly organised, confident using software systems, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team. You will work alongside the current part-time administrator for three days per week, with additional hours worked independently. Key Responsibilities Job & Office Administration Manage the company job management system ( Simpro ) full training provided. Take incoming calls, raise new jobs, and liaise with field technicians. File, organise and maintain compliance documentation and certificates. Schedule customer appointments and handle general customer enquiries. Gather, provide and chase customer feedback forms. Finance & Reporting Work within Xero to reconcile payments, upload invoices and assist with monthly Profit & Loss checks. Produce basic financial reports when required. Chase suppliers for invoices and statements. Assist with timesheet collation and Excel-based reporting. General Work effectively both independently and within the existing office team. Maintain a high level of organisation, accuracy and professionalism in all tasks. Key Requirements Strong administrative experience (ideally within a service or technical environment). Confident using digital systems; experience with Simpro or similar software is an advantage. Experience using Xero , or similar accounting software. Good working knowledge of Excel and timesheets. Excellent communication skills, both with customers and internal teams. Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks.
