Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day delivery of roofing and cladding works on site. Coordinate subcontractors and site operatives to ensure works are completed safely, on programme, and to a high standard. Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures. Monitor programme, quality, and productivity throughout the project. Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections. Liaise with the client, principal contractor, and project team. Manage site documentation including RAMS, permits, daily diaries, and progress reports. Ensure materials, plant, and labour are effectively coordinated. Job Title: MEWP Operator (x8) Location: Birmingham, West Midlands Contract Type: Temporary (potential to extend) Start Date: ASAP, Immediate Role Overview We are currently recruiting for experienced MEWP Operators to work on transportation and blue-collar infrastructure projects across Birmingham. This role involves operating Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) safely and efficiently to support site operations and removal activities. Key Responsibilities Operate MEWP machinery in line with safety regulations and project requirements. Assist with lifting, access, and removal tasks as directed by the site supervisor. Carry out pre-use checks and report any defects or hazards. Work collaboratively with the site team to ensure smooth site operations. Adhere to all site health, safety, and environmental standards. Requirements Valid IPAF 1B licence (essential). Proven experience operating MEWPs on construction or infrastructure sites. Ability to travel from the depot to multiple locations across Birmingham. Full PPE: 6-point hard hat with 4-point chin strap, safety glasses, gloves, unbranded high-vis, and safety boots. Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious. You will work as part of a site gang, supporting supervisors and site management in completing essential highways works. Key Responsibilities Carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to the required standard. Ensure full understanding of all relevant risk assessments, method statements, and site briefings before commencing work. Operate plant, tools, and equipment safely and carry out routine pre-use checks. Maintain a safe and tidy working environment at all times. Deliver works to programme deadlines while adhering to quality and safety standards. Maximise productivity by effectively managing own working time. Ensure compliance with permits, site instructions, and safety requirements. Report any health & safety concerns, near misses, or close calls promptly to the site supervisor. Actively participate in daily briefings, tool box talks, and safety forums.
