Atomic is excited to partner with one of the largest two independent accountancy firms in Luton looking for an Audit and Accounts Senior (50:50) to join their Ampthill office. As an Audit and Accounts Senior you will carry out all aspects of financial reporting, tax compliance and auditing. This is a key role within the firm, offering exposure to a broad client base and clear opportunities for progression. Key Responsibilities Assisting the Client Service Manager to Manage a diverse portfolio of audit and accounts clients Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing a high level of service and technical support Identify opportunities for additional services Preparation of accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies for Manager or Director Review under UK GAAP (FRS 102 and FRS 105) and, where applicable, IFRS Ensure accounts are completed efficiently, within budget, and to a high technical standard Resolve technical accounting issues, escalating complex matters where appropriate Ensure all Junior work is reviewed and signed off prior to Manager review Communicate directly with the client to clarify outstanding matters Ensure file is complete within the given timeframe ready for Manager or Director review Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, ethical requirements, and internal firm procedures Keep up to date with changes in accounting and regulatory standards Complete planning documentation to ensure that audits are carried out effectively Ensure audits and accounts are completed efficiently, within budget and timeframe, and to a high technical standard Resolve technical auditing issues, escalating complex matters where appropriate Carry out audit fieldwork with minimal supervision in accordance with the audit plan Perform the role of senior representative of the firm on site during audit fieldwork Utilise and plan junior staff workflow, monitoring and reviewing their work Complete audit file to the appropriate standard, suitable for Manager review. Ensure compliance with UK auditing standards, ethical requirements, and internal firm procedures Keep up to date with changes in accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards Review data processed by juniors' and clear any queries brought upwards. Prepare corporation tax computation for manager/director review. Consider tax planning opportunities. Submit CT600. Be aware of filing deadlines or other job specific deadlines. Lead, supervise, and mentor team members, including semi-seniors and trainees Review work prepared by junior staff and provide a clear, constructive feedback Allocate appropriate work to team members, assist with on-the-job training of the team, and provide regular and timely feedback where required. As a Client Manager you will manage a varied portfolio of audit (where applicable) and non-audit clients, overseeing the delivery of high-quality statutory accounts and audit assignments (where applicable), and leading, developing, and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities Manage a diverse portfolio of audit (where applicable) and accounts clients, acting as the main point of contact, taking responsibility for: Team/Resource planning Management of WIP and billing (in accordance with our internal KPIs) Efficient use of IT resources available.
