The scope of the job:Shift Maintenance Multiskilled Engineer is responsible for the activities of the maintenance department relating to: Equipment and Facilities breakdowns and corrective actions. Planned, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Working to set objectives and specifications towards meeting key performance indicators (KPI) in the operational department New project implementation and equipment installation support Equipment condition appraisal, refurbishment and continuous improvement activity implementation Responsible for maintaining the required standards of housekeeping. Work closely with the Engineering Team to ensure the Planning of maintenance work within the department is conducted correctly. Our client is a large, complex manufacturing business who are urgently recruiting for a Permit Issuer to join on a temporary/contract basis of initially up to one year. The Permit Authoriser is the central figure in the day-to-day management of the permit system within their area of responsibility and for authorising all work requiring a permit to work. This role will involve the day to day implementation of the Permit to Work procedure for all staff and contractors working within the area of responsibility to include management of isolations and coordination of all work being undertaken on a day-to-day basis. The role will be the active link between the work organisers, site contacts, engineering managers and production and project managers that ensures all work is executed safely and with limited impact to our production operation. The role will be responsible for ensuring that all permitted work is properly planned and scheduled in advance of the permit being issued as well as reacting to emergent work, dynamic worksite/task changes and breakdowns to help ensure we safely control all our simultaneous permitted work activities. Ensures strict adherence of PTW rules in the Forge Driving and participating in permit to work co-ordination meetings. Ensuring that PTW updates/changes are effectively communicated to all relevant personnel Audits the Permit to Work Procedure on a regular basis to ensure compliance, identify and mitigate risk. Providing a quality check on the completion of permits and certificates and ensuring all the necessary signatures have been obtained Ensures all risk assessments and permits are prepared in a timely manner and communicates to all personnel involved with the work execution.
