Job purpose: We are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead our expanding software team. Reporting to the System Design Manager, you will be responsible for the management and day-to-day activities of the software team, collaborating with other disciplines and managers in all areas of the business. Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Lead the day to day activities of the software team, taking responsibility for delivering the agreed team goals. Skills Development: Develop the team's personal and professional skills, acting as a mentor and coach to the team members. Team growth: Be part of the recruiting team seeking new talent as the team grows. Be accountable for the planning, design, development, verification and integration of the software for the high-altitude, long-endurance aircraft. Act as the technical authority for software, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. Specify and develop the high-level and low-level software requirements Collaborate with other departments including systems engineering, avionics, flight operations and line maintenance for software activities Develop the personal and professional skills of the software team, and taking responsibility for recruiting new talent. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electronics, Computer Science or related engineering discipline. Proven experience as a senior software engineer, technical lead or similar role leading or mentoring a team of software engineers. Experience with creating safety-critical software in C/C++/Ada or similar languages. Proficiency with requirements definition, management and verification. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent collaboration and stakeholder-management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Essential A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace Management, or a related field. Proven experience in a commercial, contract management , or a related business role, demonstrating strong commercial acumen. Demonstrable experience in supporting contract negotiations. You must be adept at financial analysis, business case development, and managing contract profitability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence and build robust relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Highly organised with a meticulous attention to detail. You must have the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and prioritise effectively to meet business deadlines. Excellent MS Office capabilities (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and GSuite (GSheet, GDocs, and related application) A proactive, "can-do" attitude and a flexible approach, with a talent for identifying commercial risks and developing effective mitigation strategies. Desirable A broad understanding of the global aviation/aerospace industry or another high-value, complex engineering sector. A track record of successfully managing the full life cycle of contracts. A strong understanding of contract law and its practical application in a commercial setting. Ability to work on several contracts at any one time and prioritise according to business needs

We are recruiting for an IT Build Engineer on contract to be based at our clients site in Warrington. The project involves deploying 3,100 mobile devices for the customer. 1,200 devices will be configured in elsewhere and delivered directly to the user's homes. 1,900 devices will be built and deployed via a Tech Bar at Warrington, where the resources are required. Tech bar is operating up to 8-10 weeks - Provisional Start 27/10 - Finish 19/12. (Build Take on and agreed schedules) Responsibilities include: - Facilitating handover of new mobile devices and collection of Legacy devices. - Recording all handovers and returns, providing daily/weekly summary reports. - Supporting users migrating from Workspace ONE to MDM or setting up new devices, following the agreed migration approach. - Providing additional remote support via Microsoft Teams (or similar) for all users in scope.
