Principal Process Engineer (Contract) Manchester, Leeds or Chester Hybrid Working We are seeking an experienced Principal Process Engineer to support the delivery of major water sector projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering team working on wastewater treatment, clean water treatment and sludge processing schemes. Key Responsibilities Deliver process engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment projects. Produce and review P&IDs, Control Philosophies and equipment sizing calculations. Undertake feasibility studies, risk assessments and process optimisation activities. Support project delivery from concept through to detailed design. Engage with clients, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence. Requirements Degree qualified in Chemical, Environmental or Process Engineering. Minimum 6 years' experience within the UK water sector. Strong experience in wastewater treatment, clean water treatment and sludge processing. Proven experience producing and checking P&IDs, Control Philosophies and process calculations. Senior EC&I Engineer (Contract) Manchester, Chester or Leeds Hybrid Working (3 Days Office-Based) An exciting contract opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to support the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects across the Water sector, with additional opportunities to work on Industrial, Chemical, Power and Nuclear projects. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days per week based in either Manchester, Chester or Leeds. The Role As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions within multidisciplinary project teams. You will take ownership of technical deliverables, support project delivery, engage with clients and provide guidance to junior engineers where required. Your responsibilities will include producing EC&I design documentation such as Control Philosophies, Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Cable Block Diagrams (CBDs), schedules, loop drawings and cable calculations. You will coordinate and manage EC&I design activities, support multidisciplinary project delivery, work closely with clients and key stakeholders, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, review technical documentation and design outputs, and mentor junior engineers and graduates. Candidate Requirement s To be considered for this opportunity, you should be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and ideally hold Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or be working towards Chartership through a recognised professional body such as the IET. You will have a minimum of five years' experience within an engineering design environment and a proven track record of delivering EC&I design solutions within the Water sector. Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects is essential, along with strong design management and project delivery capabilities. Applicants should have experience producing key EC&I deliverables including Functional Design Specifications, Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, loop drawings and cable calculations. Working knowledge of Trimble ProDesign and AutoCAD is required, together with proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in High Voltage (HV) design, ATEX, SIL design, or projects within the Industrial, Chemical, Power or Nuclear sectors would be highly advantageous. About You You will be a client-focused engineer with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and will have experience supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
