Ref: 25509 We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business operating within the specialist chemicals sector. Following significant investment and the completion of a major new production facility, they are looking to strengthen its Controls & Instrumentation team with the appointment of an experienced Control Systems Engineer. Control Systems Engineer - The Role: You will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance and optimisation of control systems across a number of UK manufacturing sites. The position offers a varied mix of project work, system development, troubleshooting, commissioning and ongoing plant support. Key responsibilities include: PLC and SCADA design, development and programming from concept through to commissioning Supporting and developing Rockwell Automation platforms including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, FactoryTalk SE and PlantPAx Supporting Siemens S7 and WinCC systems where required Designing and maintaining industrial control system networks Supporting plant cyber security and operational technology (OT) infrastructure Producing engineering documentation including URS, FDS, Cause & Effect Charts and Control Narratives Participating in HAZOPs, Management of Change (MOC) reviews and process safety activities Providing technical support during commissioning, upgrades and fault-finding activities Working closely with operations, maintenance and project teams to deliver safe and reliable plant performance Remotely supporting control systems across multiple UK sites as required Control Systems Engineer - The Person: We are keen to speak with Control Systems Engineers, Automation Engineers or Process Control Engineers who can demonstrate: PLC programming experience within industrial manufacturing environments Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms including ControlLogix, CompactLogix and FactoryTalk Knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial communications networks Experience designing control systems from first principles Strong fault-finding and commissioning skills Experience producing technical documentation and supporting engineering projects Understanding of industrial networking, managed switches and system architecture Experience in any of the following would be advantageous: PlantPAx Siemens S7 and WinCC OT Cyber Security Virtualised environments Functional Safety, SIFs and SIL systems COMAH, chemical, pharmaceutical, water treatment, energy or other process manufacturing environments If you're a Control Systems Engineer looking for a role that offers technical variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing manufacturing organisation, we'd like to hear from you.
