Park Warden Connect2Swindon are recruiting a Park Warden to work 37hrs per week, this is a temporary role, running until 01/11/26. Within this particular role as a seasonal country park warden, your core duty will be to run and maintain the seasonal facilities at Coate Water Country Park. These include - Pitch & Putt kiosk and course, crazy golf course and The Splash Park. Core duties will include - Running the pitch & putt kiosk - Selling tickets and using card payment machines, issuing equipment, selling and re-stocking cold drinks/ice creams and engaging with the public for general information. Course maintenance for both the pitch & putt and crazy golf - Setting up and closing down the courses, operating the sprinkler systems, maintaining the greens and fairways, maintaining the crazy golf course and surfaces, mowing (ride on and push) plus some vegetation management (shrub beds and weeding). Running the Splash Park - General rule and safety checks throughout the day, cleaning and maintenance of the system, splash pad and surrounding area, bin emptying and litter picking, maximum capacity checks, enforcement of splash park rules, general public engagement and information, toilet checks/cleaning. Secondary duties will be to assist with the wider tasks within the country parks, ONLY when all of the core duties have been covered. These include - Cleaning toilets and BBQ's, emptying bins, litter picking, fishing and statutory safety checks (play park, dams etc), vegetation management (mowing and strimming), engaging with the public, contractors and external events. You must have good time keeping and organisational skills, be self-motivated and have adequate numeracy skills to handle cash/card machines confidently. Excellent communication skills are required as you will be dealing with the general public and enquiries on a daily basis. The role includes working weekends and bank holidays.
