We are seeking a senior, creative UI/UX & Full Stack Developer to join a client in The City of London. This role will focus primarily on UI/UX design and development (60%) while also contributing to backend and full-stack solutions (40%). The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and developers in a small Agile team, contributing to both greenfield projects and enhancements to existing systems. Key Responsibilities UI/UX Focus (60%) Design and implement modern, responsive user interfaces using React, NextJS, or Blazor. Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools such as Figma to demo solutions to business stakeholders. Ensure high-quality user experiences, accessibility, and performance across applications. Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to translate user stories into intuitive, functional designs. Participate in usability testing and iterate on feedback to improve interface quality. Full Stack / Backend Focus (40%) Develop, test, and maintain microservices and backend APIs using C#, .NET 8, Python, and RESTful Web APIs. Implement integration and unit tests as part of the development process. Contribute to DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud deployment (Azure/AWS). Support production systems and troubleshoot technical issues when needed. Agile Collaboration Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and milestones. Act as a problem solver and team player, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Skills & Expertise Strong hands-on experience in UI/UX development with React, NextJS, or Blazor. Proficient in wireframing and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD, or similar). Solid experience in full-stack development using C#, .NET 8, Python, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and containerization technologies. Experience with databases (SQL Server, AWS RDS, MongoDB or other NoSQL). Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or Octopus for CI/CD. Understanding of Agile methodologies and collaborative software development practices. Bonus: experience in financial services or familiarity with trading systems, FIX protocol, or FX products.

We're looking for a mid-level Full Stack C# Developer with excellent communication skills and the ability to join a project mid-flight and hit the ground running. Please note this role requires onsite attendance twice a week in London. Key Responsibilities Analyse user stories and technical requirements, estimate effort, and translate them into effective technical solutions within an Agile/Scrum environment. Design, develop, test, and deploy solutions using a microservices architecture under time-sensitive conditions. Develop integration tests as part of the software development life cycle. Create UI proof of concepts using wireframing tools to demonstrate functionality to stakeholders. Provide technical support for production systems as needed. Professional experience as a user researcher, working with other User Centred Design disciplines Experience advocating for user research and engaging sceptical colleagues and stakeholders The ability to include all kinds of users in appropriate research activities to help teams understand the diversity of users of government services. Ability to select appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methods to meet the needs of the team and project Carry out a wide range of user research activities from recruiting participants, preparing discussion guides and moderating research sessions Lead colleagues to analyse research data and synthesise clear and actionable findings Communicate user research findings to help the wider team and organisation develop a deep understanding of users and their needs Work closely with product manager and content designers to turn user research findings into stories and actions that lead to valuable product and service features Help build user-centred practices in digital communications team Develop and ensure good user research practice, sharing knowledge with other user researchers Experience working with GDS frameworks would be highly advantageous You will plan and do research to understand our users' behaviours, needs, and motivations. You will plan and conduct research using different techniques such as usability tests, surveys, diary studies, card sorting, and interviews.
