Humanities Tutor Coordinator About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and imaginative adult education professional to join the Humanities team and take responsibility for the design, programming, coordination and growth of the high-quality courses, classes and learning events within the history and politics programme area, focusing on Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Americas, Europe and global history from 400CE onwards in addition to global politics and economics. So, if you are a tutor or Tutor Coordinator with a background that includes history, politics and/or economics, we would like to hear from you. In this role you will be a key contributor to the Humanities department where you will take responsibility for leading a team of tutors within your curriculum area. You will contribute to raising the profile of the department, identifying opportunities, and promoting the success of the programme area you'll support. You will also be proactive in ensuring quality assurance procedures are maintained and that the quality of teaching and learning in these areas continues to meet high standards. The ideal candidate will have: Significant experience of providing outstanding teaching and learning within an adult learning context, within an area related to the role (outlined above). Up-to-date knowledge, enthusiasm, and interest in history, politics and economics. Excellent communication skills and an ability to adapt approach to engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Effective time management skills. Demonstrable experience of decision making. Experience of developing and managing courses and curriculum in an adult education setting (desirable). Experience of supervising or managing a team of teachers (desirable).
