If you're a passionate climber and wish to introduce others to the sport, get in touch! We are looking for a CWI or CWDI Qualified Climbing Duty Officer to join the team covering all our opening hours, including weekday evenings and weekends. If you have an upbeat, energetic personality, you will find yourself in good company at Surrey Summit. As a Climbing Duty Officer, you will run sessions across all ages and ability levels, including our NICAS and Squad programmes and GCSE PE sessions for school groups. You will also be booking customers onto these sessions, all as part of a dedicated team of Instructors, receptionists and other Duty Officers. You will have regular opportunities for route setting on our roped and boulder walls. You will be a point of escalation for day-to-day problems the freelance team members might face, reporting back to the Climbing Duty Supervisor should anything require further escalation. Furthermore, you will oversee a specific area of responsibility tailored to your skillset to grow and develop under the guidance of the Climbing Duty Supervisor. CWI or CWDI Qualification is essential. Operating as part of the Network Services team within IT Services the post holder will be responsible for maintaining the University's data and voice networks, as well as providing input to assist with the design, development and evolution of network services. Role & Responsibilities: The role acts primarily to proactively manage the University's data and voice communications systems and deal with any associated support tickets, responding to alerts, including capacity and security issues identified by internal monitoring systems and external suppliers. The post holder will be expected to lead in the maintenance of our enterprise network systems and services, coordinating with colleagues and third parties in scheduling changes, and demonstrate independent thinking should an issue occur that falls outside the agreed process of the change. Responsibilities include: Take ownership of the proactive maintenance of large-scale network systems, coordinating and managing changes as required, identifying and actioning improvements to the service. Configure network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Manage the case load of service incidents, works orders and standard change requests, always ensuring that requests are handled correctly and the service offering is to the highest standard. Where incidents have no published workaround, or standard changes are not applicable, find and document new workarounds and resolutions. Monitoring network performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing the network.
