Sport England is looking for an experienced Project Management Office (PMO) leader to establish a new PMO function, setting the strategic direction for project management across the organisation to ensure that Sport England approaches and manages projects with a robust but proportionate governance framework. The PMO is a new function for Sport England and as such requires extensive stakeholder management across all layers of the organisation to achieve credibility and buy-in. In this role you will need to apply judgement on what is proportionate and how to sequence the setup of the PMO to support Sport England delivery its objectives. You will provide expect guidance, support and insight on projects, acting as the source of all project information and metrics. You will have significant senior-level experience leading a PMO or portfolio management function and delivering complex projects or programmes in a public sector, arm's-length body or similarly regulated environment. About The Role Location: Homeworking with some travel to Sport England Offices and other locations in England Salary: £38,100 per annum with Excellent benefits Hours: Full time 36 hours per week Sport England is looking for an experienced and curious communications professional to join us as a Senior Press Officer in our Policy and Communications directorate. Working closely with the Head of Media, you will play a role in our press office, handling media enquiries, identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and providing clear, evidence-led advice to senior colleagues. You will also develop compelling stories, write high-quality media content, build relationships with journalists and support spokespeople. We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in media relations, public relations or journalism, strong news judgement and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be able to manage sensitive or reputational issues, lead projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role involves travel across England and participation in an out-of-hours media rota, including occasional evening and weekend working. Your role is an important part of the wider communications team; you will be helping to protect, celebrate and enhance Sport England's public reputation.
