Our client is a leading FMCG Distributor who are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operations Manager to manage the busy operation at their site in Corby, Northamptonshire, on a Monday - Friday, permanent night basis. Reporting into the General Manager and with 5 Direct Reports, managing a team of c220FTEs + 10 Team Leaders, you will be expected to manage the operation and improve operational efficiencies through Continuous Improvement. Key Accountabilities as Warehouse Operations Manager (Nights): Day to day management of the warehouse operation in order to meet agreed budgets and KPIs. Manage the deployment and performance of the warehouse team in order to drive operational efficiencies, service excellence and productivity within the business Think and plan strategically in order to improve upon the operation of the Warehouse so that it can offer a better service Demonstrate the expected behaviours and standards of a people leader to help recruit, engage and develop the capability of our people and generate the right customer service culture for our business Support and work with other depots in order to ensure service levels are achieved Ensure that all audits and legal standards are met and exceeded to ensure the compliance of the depot Effectively manage and lead the team through change, through promoting the positive outputs of change, seeking to understand the impact of change on individuals and adapting approach to meet all needs The Ideal Person for the Warehouse Operations Manager (Nights) role: Experience of a managing in a FMCG Warehousing environment Experience of effective cost management and able to work within tight budgetary controls Effective planning and communication skills Experience of working effectively within a team to provide customer service Evidence of effective people management and leadership Ability to think strategically in order to make improvements to the service offering, with a superb track record in Change management This is a fantastic opportunity - we look forward to your application . We are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Warehouse professional as they look to recruit a Warehouse Operations Manager at their 100,000 sq.ft state of the art facility in Newport, Gwent. Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfilment, outbound logistics and the delivery of third-party logistics (3PL) services to the customer base. Key Responsibilities as Warehouse Operations Manager: Lead the implementation of warehouse strategies that enhance performance, service levels and cost-effectiveness. Oversee all warehouse functions including goods-in, inventory control, picking, packing, dispatch and third-party logistics (3PL) operations. Ensure alignment of local site operations with wider company goals and participate in cross-functional projects. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, applying lean methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, and waste elimination to increase operational efficiency and service quality. Lead operational readiness for new customer onboarding, process changes or system implementations, ensuring minimal disruption and strong communication across teams. Provide leadership and support to the overall team of 30FTEs through 2 Direct Reports Drive a culture of high performance, collaboration and continuous improvement. Manage team training, development, performance reviews and workforce planning in line with business needs. Ensure the effective operation of all warehouse processes, from receipt of goods through to order fulfilment and shipping. Maintain inventory accuracy and stock control through robust processes, including cycle counts and reconciliation. Manage warehouse layout, space utilisation and equipment use, ensuring health and safety compliance at all times. Ensure full and effective use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage stock, track orders and support accurate, real-time reporting. Define and report on KPIs relating to safety, productivity, service and cost efficiency. Analyse operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. The Ideal Person for the Warehouse Operations Manager role: Substantial experience in a senior warehouse management role, ideally within a high-volume, fast-paced distribution environment. Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and delivering operational success. Familiarity with third-party logistics (3PL) environments and warehouse management systems (WMS). IOSH Managing Safely certification is preferred. Proven commercial acumen through the management of a P&L Budget Strong analytical capabilities with experience in performance reporting and operational KPIs. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
