ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY We are seeking an outstanding Assistant Principal for Teacher Development, specialising in English or Mathematics, to work within our high performing Academy. MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating as a member of the Academy Leadership Team in order to build a shared vision of excellence and high standards for all students Oversight and leadership of teacher development, with a particular focus on Early Career Teachers and Initial Teacher Training Raising standards of student attainment and monitoring the effectiveness of learning and teaching within the Academy Strengthening the Academy's organisational capacity by contributing to its effective day-to-day management Participating in regular Academy self-review and to strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of the Academy's work Facilitating and encouraging a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential Sharing and supporting the Academy's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth Supporting and participating in the work of the Harris Federation WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We would like to hear from you if you have: QTS (or equivalent) and a good undergraduate degree Extensive teaching experience Knowledge and understanding of sixth form specific activities e.g. UCAS Clear knowledge and understanding of current educational issues Minimum of four years teaching experience, minimum of two at subject leadership level Substantial and recent teaching experience at KS4 and KS5 Proven success in raising achievement as a subject leader across at least two key stages Experience of leading, supporting and managing others, both individuals and teams, ensuring high quality performance Successful experience in implementation of monitoring, evaluation and review process to improve the quality of teaching and learning For a full job description and person specification, please download the Job Pack. Summary We are seeking to appoint an Food, DT and Art Technician to work within our high performing Academy working 38 weeks per year. This is an ideal position for an experienced Technician with experience working within a school setting. Main Areas of Responsibility As DT and Art Technician, your responsibilities may include: Assisting and advise teaching staff on the preparation and layout in classrooms for practical exercises, running trials, demonstrations and helping students with learning activities as appropriate Safe disposal of waste, and ensuring that hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained Ensuring equipment and materials prepared for lessons are to the specification of the teacher requisitions, including shopping/ordering and preparing ingredients, making up special equipment or modifying from existing equipment as necessary from instructions supplied by the teaching staff. In conjunction with the appropriate teachers to advise students on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment and on the correct and safe way to carry out learning activities. To also advise staff, as necessary, on Health and Safety issues and on the best way to carry out practical work. Supporting students prepare materials for both 3D and 2D projects, e.g. stretch canvas, prepare screens for printing. Assisting in practical lessons and after hours activities when requested.
