SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER Leeds To c 60k neg dep exp + benefits Our client is part of a group that has been established for almost 200 years and employs more than 5,500 staff globally, specialising in a range of bespoke heavier engineering and materials handling activities for a diverse range of applications. Due to continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to be based out of their prestigious Leeds Office environment and complement their successful electrical engineering team. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the successful Senior Electrical Design Engineer candidate will undertake a range of duties and responsibilities that will include (but not be limited to): Developing designs and specifications for control systems across the portfolio of products available Co-ordinating site, application and design engineering resources to meet the project's technical requirement. Ensuring effective interfacing between the design, production, procurement and installation and commissioning site teams to optimise project costs and implementation. Developing a working understanding of applicable Industry Standards. Managing the technical content of projects with respect to cost, quality, contract documentation and specifications and the associated engineering content of projects to budget (i.e. design hours, outsourcing, site labour, etc.) Attending Customer sites and liaising with customer engineering representatives as required. To be considered for this varied and genuinely interesting Senior Electrical Design Engineer opportunity it is envisaged that the successful candidate will realistically be qualified to Degree level or above in Electrical Engineering (although comparable qualifications will be considered) and demonstrate at least 5 years previous experience of electrical design work gained in an engineering or manufacturing environment. You will demonstrate extensive design engineering experience in a drawing office environment along with proven project management awareness, with excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team and comprehensive skills in the use of AutoCad Electrical 2020 (or equivalent) with knowledge of low voltage motor speed control applications proving distinctly advantageous.
