About the Role This is a pivotal role focused on delivering high-quality representation to NEU members, supporting and mentoring local Officers and Reps, and helping build strong, confident workplace structures for collective action and bargaining. The role is part-time (0.8 FTE) 4 days per week. We are looking for people who can: Provide expert advice, coaching and mentoring to local Officers and Reps on individual and collective casework. Undertake complex casework and negotiations with employers across a range of educational settings, with sound knowledge of employment law Is a confident communicator and negotiator, with excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills. Can coach and develop others and has a track record of empowering activists and building local leadership. Support Branches in delivering development and organising plans aligned with national strategies. Full UK Driving License required. We are now seeking to recruit apart-time Regional Administrator to join our team in the NEU West Midlands region, on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will join a small, busy team dealing with telephone and email enquiries, providing secretarial and administrative support for the professional staff, including a solicitor, and administering and servicing meetings, training courses and events. They will also need to have good typing speeds and skills in using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as being able to use and maintain office database systems. The tasks required will include arranging and preparing for a variety of meetings, courses and events, maintaining databases, producing and processing correspondence and statistics and dealing with telephone and email enquiries. We are looking for applicants who can work flexibly as part of a team with good organisational skills, who are able to prioritise, to work under pressure and at times to use their own initiative. The ability to deal with telephone calls in a confident and professional manner is essential.
