Our Aerospace customer is looking for an experienced Configuration Engineer. Contract role - Duration: 3 months Location: Prestwick Pay rate: 28 p/h 37 hours p/w Job Overview Develops and implements configuration management systems, processes and procedures designed to provide technical direction and administrative control over the documentation and data management throughout the project lifecycle. Ensures the identification and traceability of product configurations, physical and functional, through all phases of each product's life cycle. Provides oversight on the change management system to assure the capture of any modifications to product requirements & designs, and that all changes are properly documented and the status is topical. Serves as the company facilitator and trainer in the implementation of new systems/processes and enabling tools for configuration control/change management, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. Collaborates with QA regarding compliance management to ensure Spirit meet International Organization for Standardization (ISO), regulatory and customer requirements for configuration management. Responsibilities Facilitates the programme to perform configuration management planning and ensure that the configuration management plan is topical to current working practices, contractual and regulatory requirements. Establishes and monitors configuration management metrics to support product quality, integrity and quality assurance systems. Promote awareness of customer and regulatory requirements for configuration management within projects and facilitate adherence to these utilising appropriate measures and remedial actions to encourage the correct behaviours. Define review and continuously improve Configuration Management (CM) processes and procedures. Stay current on emerging technologies and trends in CM. to implement enhanced and innovative processes. Develops the documentation/data management toolsets and processes for the approval and control of product data. Serves as principal controller of the program design change process including base-lining documentation and data. Management of engineering change orders and other forms of modifications to product requirements or designs. Ensure the generation of the proper configuration status accounting records, archiving and version control for product and documentation releases and traceability. Defines requirements for the coordination, execution and documentation of internal, supplier and customer configuration audits. Qualifications & Experience 2 years work experience in applying discipline knowledge A basic competence and understanding in the use of the company toolsets for PDM, ERP & design. A broad knowledge of the business processes and the dependencies and interactions required to ensure that the correct engineering definition is specified, assembled and verified. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and software packages. Knowledge and understanding of Company Procedures and standards relating to engineering, design, health, safety and environment. The ability to assess configuration changes for its overall impact and make judgements on the likely impacts on design, cost, manufacturing, lead times etc. Has an in-depth knowledge of the companies procedures especially as they relate to change control, data control and communication of data to suppliers and customers, part identification and traceability, status accounting and auditing. Has an in-depth knowledge of industry requirements AS9100, ISO1007 and customer requirements as related to configuration management.

Manufacturing Engineer Pay Rate: 35 p/h Outside IR35 Job Description: Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to be based on-site supporting a customer program in Prestwick. The desired candidate will have a proven track record in Manufacturing Engineering roles, within an aerospace or defence manufacturing facility. The role will be accountable for the management and development of accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) maintained within the Enterprise Resource Planning System. Ensure that valid Engineering Processes are deployed within the manufacturing process and effectively detailed within the process routing to satisfy requirements of the business MRPII disciplines. Additionally, the role will manage the formal Engineering Changes communicated and agreed with the customer and valid agreed internal changes, as well as deploy the Continuous Improvement toolset to enable productivity and product quality improvements to be implemented in support of business and customer requirements both internal and within the supply chain. The role also supports and take the lead on the Translation of Design Data (for example CAD/CATIA) and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing products to customer and regulatory authority requirements. Effective use of problem solving tools and techniques. Responsible for the definition of hard to satisfy quality standards and optimise long term manufacturing costs. Responsible for manipulating CAD data to support work activities when required. Support the MRB process by providing engineering instructions relating to rework, scrap and future prevention of non-conforming products. Implement visible control and business support systems in order to demonstrate effective management and control. Liaising with operators, design and regulatory authorities to ensure product integrity and compliance. Responsible for checking and acceptance of new and modified design models and drawings as approved signatories. Responsible for provision of engineering/manufacturing support to external customers and contractors. Responsible for the creation, maintenance and auditing of Engineering processes. Assisting with product audits, identifying and implementing corrective actions. Assisting with the close out of customer non-conformances. Work closely with Design to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and quality improvements. The right candidate will have the following background and experience: Preferably be qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a related discipline. Have 2 years relevant engineering experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment. Good communication skills - interface with customers and suppliers. Knowledge of engineering systems and the ability to deploy the Continuous Improvement Toolset - Seven Wastes etc. Awareness of drawings and systems as applied within our major customers such as Boeing and Airbus. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages - Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.

Quality Inspector As-Required 27.50 P/H Inside IR35 Job Description: Urgently seeking Quality Inspectors to provide on-demand / as-required support on a customer programme in Derby. Support will typically be requested with one week's notice and will run for periods of 2-3 weeks at a time. The desired candidates will have previous experience working in an Aerospace Inspection role, performing inspections to engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards, and specifications. Supporting the final inspection process, support will include: Visual inspection Dimensional inspection, using hand measurement equipment Review completeness of manufacturing documentation (e.g. CofCs, routers, etc.) Document inspection, preparing non-conformance reports as necessary Update customer systems Experience requirements: Demonstrate evidence of more than 2-years in the last 5-years of aerospace experience and poses experience of working within an engineering environment for a minimum of 3 years.
