Quality Manager - Infrastructure Civils Major Projects Hertfordshire (hybrid - weekly presence) This is not a desk-based compliance role. We're looking for a delivery-led Quality leader who can set direction, raise standards, and energise operational teams across a complex infrastructure business. You'll be the person who bridges management systems and site reality - someone who understands ISO standards and audits, but whose real strength is influencing delivery teams, improving ways of working, and embedding quality where it actually matters. The Opportunity You'll take ownership of the Business Quality Strategy, shaping both culture and capability across live infrastructure projects. Working closely with project and regional leadership, you'll drive consistency, coach Quality Managers, and ensure quality is seen as an enabler of delivery, not a blocker. What You'll Be Doing Leading and embedding a business-wide Quality strategy Driving quality culture, engagement, and ownership across delivery teams Supporting and developing Quality Managers and future talent Translating management systems and standards into practical, site-ready processes Owning audit programmes, digital quality standards, and best practice Acting as a trusted advisor during project mobilisation and complex quality issues Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Providing quality input into bids and pre-construction where needed What We're Looking For A senior Quality professional from construction / infrastructure Strong operational credibility - comfortable engaging with site and delivery teams Background in Lean, CI, or operational quality improvement is highly desirable Deep understanding of management systems, standards, and assurance Energy, presence, and passion for quality - you lead through influence, not enforcement Formal qualification in construction or quality (CQI / Chartered pathway a plus)

Bid Manager / Pre-Construction Manager - Civils (Hybrid Working) Exeter (with regional travel) - Permanent - Full Time Civils projects up to £15m Hybrid working - up to 2 days per week from home A Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Manager / Pre-Construction Manager to lead the full pre-construction lifecycle across the South West. With a strong and growing pipeline of infrastructure and highways schemes, this role plays a critical part in securing and successfully mobilising new work. Projects typically range up to £15m in value and span highways, infrastructure, and wider civils delivery. The Role You will take ownership of the regional tender pipeline, leading activity from early engagement through live tenders and post-award handover. Working closely with estimating, commercial, delivery, and supply chain teams, you will ensure bids are strategically aligned, well governed, and positioned for success. Key responsibilities include: Leading and managing the tender pipeline across the South West Aligning bid strategy with business objectives and available resources Overseeing bid content including CVs, case studies, social value and ESG submissions Managing governance, approvals, and internal sign-off processes Supporting subcontractor engagement and tender analysis Capturing and sharing client feedback to support continuous improvement Leading post-award meetings and early client engagement Ensuring smooth handovers into delivery and contributing to early-stage planning About You You will bring strong experience from the front end of construction projects and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
