Job: Administrator Location: St Albans. AL2 Contract Length: Permanent, full time or Part time Hours: Full time: 8.30am 5pm Monday to Friday (40 hrs per week) Part time: 9am 2.30pm Monday to Friday (25 hrs per week) Salary: £27,000 - £30,000pa depending on experience, for full-time, (part-time pro-rata) Role: an administrative role, ensuring the smooth operation of the office and laboratory on a day-to-day basis working for an independent chemical analysis company. Would suit someone with a science background or interest. Responsibilities: Supporting operations in the office, including liaison with IT support Assisting laboratory management with administrative requirements, including booking in of samples; sorting the samples into boxes for preparation; contacting customers regarding queries with orders; carrying out typing or computer generation of routine documents. General office duties, including filing office records; maintenance of document control; monitoring email and other messaging; ordering and management of office and lab supplies; preparing and distributing invoices; chasing invoices and liaising with the Group Financial Controller. Undertaking reception duties, including handling calls; receiving visitors; managing and retaining employee and worker sign-in records; receiving and dispatching post. Supporting laboratory management with health, safety and welfare responsibilities, including controlling PPE; managing the appointed cleaner; co-ordinating fire prevention procedures and electrical testing; leading inductions for new employees and subcontractors; liaising with the Group Health & Safety Manager to conduct regular H&S checks and ensure records are maintained. Ad hoc duties as required. Knowledge and Skills: A minimum of 5 GCSE s (including Maths and English) Scientific knowledge and interests Able to pay attention to detail and accuracy Self motivated, organised, flexible and adaptable Excellent communicator IT Literate (MS Outlook, MS Word and Excel) Customer focused approach to work Able to follow Health & Safety procedures at all times Full training will be given on internal processes and the management team. Manual handling training provided as part of the induction process (for the handling of samples). Future development includes the willingness to carry out simple laboratory testing and also willingness to help the business grow using social media and other means.

Electronics Engineer - PCB Design Kent £45-50k Experienced Electronics Engineer required to join the development team with a leading consumer goods company to work on Smart connected products. Role Design and development of electronics (PCBs) and creating associated documents, diagrams, schematics etc. Testing of new / prototype electronics and fault finding of existing products. Work on projects and products from initial concept / prototype through to production and support. Devise and perform test procedures and plans. Research new technologies to support development of Smart products. Candidate Essential Degree, HND, HNC in Electronics Engineering or closely related subject. Minimum of 3 years experience working in electronics development outside of academia. PCB layout and schematic design ideally using Altium Designer software. Experience in electro-mechanical design for small to medium volume manufacturing. Hands on skills including, soldering, fault finding to component level and use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters. Desirable Embedded programming experience. Knowledge of high voltage PWM and stepper motor controls. Familiarity with 3DX, Ideagen or other similar management tools.
