Success Recruit are currently working with a dynamic and employee-owned multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Essex who are continuing to grow and are excited to be recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and proactive Quantity Surveyor with 4-5 years' industry experience looking to further develop their career within a supportive consultancy environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of Education, Residential and Healthcare projects, with values ranging from £250,000 to £50 million, whilst taking ownership of projects throughout the full project lifecycle. Working within a client-side consultancy, this varied role offers exposure across every stage, from early cost planning and procurement through to contract administration, project delivery and final account. This position would suit someone who enjoys building strong client relationships and is looking to progress their career within a growing and forward-thinking business. The successful Quantity Surveyor will have: A degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction-related qualification Approximately 4-5 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a consultancy or contractor environment A sound understanding of cost planning, procurement, contract administration and commercial management Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities: Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies, and detailed cost plans throughout all project stages Produce tender documentation, undertake tender analysis and prepare recommendation reports Administer contracts and provide commercial advice throughout project delivery Manage project costs, interim valuations, variations and final accounts Prepare accurate cost reports and procurement strategies for clients Attend client meetings and site visits, ensuring projects remain on programme and within budget Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors and the wider project team Support junior team members where appropriate and contribute to the continued success of the Quantity Surveying team This is a varied and rewarding opportunity to join a respected consultancy that values its people and offers genuine career progression. The successful Project Manager will be expected to: Management/Supervisory experience, which is essential, preferably within the Construction Industry. Duties to include but not limited to: Produce and maintain project programs Manage project resources, including scheduling personnel Manage the end-to-end procurement of materials, tools, and subcontractors necessary to complete the project activities Issuing RFQs, raising and issuing Purchase Orders, and coordinating subcontractor site attendance and material deliveries Lead and manage all on-site activities, conducting daily site visits to oversee works and carry out audits as required Conduct daily activity briefings to detail the work planned for the day Proactively plan to mitigate risk, and where required, adapt, and implement solutions Take responsibility for the financial planning, monitoring, forecasting and delivery of the project against budgets Proactively identify, document, and communicate potential variation opportunities to the relevant commercial teams, detailing the scope, reasoning, cost, and schedule impact Ensure all stakeholders are fully aware of project progress by producing and issuing weekly progress reports to the client and internal teams Respond promptly to all communications from the client, internal team, and subcontractors Maintain and update all project documentation This role is well-suited for an individual looking to progress from a coordinator or similar position into project management.
