A highly regarded and established business within its sector is seeking an all-encompassing Finance Director to join its senior leadership team. This is a pivotal, hands-on role offering broad responsibility across finance, commercial operations, legal oversight, HR administration and property matters. Reporting directly to the Board, the Finance Director will have end-to-end responsibility for financial management and business administration, while also leading the development of systems and processes to support emerging commercial themes and future growth. This is an in-person role requiring strong leadership presence, commercial judgement, and the ability to operate confidently across multiple disciplines. A very successful organisation based in Uckfield are seeking an experienced and commercially minded UK Finance Lead to take full ownership of the financial performance of the UK business and to support the delivery of company strategy in alignment with Group objectives. This role will be for a 9 month contract with possible extension. This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for guiding the business toward sustained profitability and long-term success. The successful candidate will act as a trusted business partner to the leadership and commercial teams, providing insight, challenge and financial leadership across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Finance Leadership & Strategy Lead the development and implementation of the long-term UK business plan alongside the local leadership team Act as a key business partner to commercial, operational and functional teams to improve financial understanding and decision-making Drive financial planning through robust analysis of performance, risks and opportunities Maintain continuous oversight of the company's financial position and proactively address emerging issues Produce annual budgets, forecasts and detailed financial reports (monthly, quarterly and annual) Conduct financial analysis and forecasting for presentation to the executive team Lead cashflow forecasting, payment approvals and liquidity management Review and approve monthly payroll Ensure full compliance with HMRC requirements, including VAT, PAYE and PSA/P11D submissions Lead, coach and develop direct reports, providing clear performance objectives and development pathways About You Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role Experience overseeing finance for commercial teams, operations/factory environments and costing Commercial decision-making experience strongly preferred This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a growing, purpose-driven business, working closely with senior leadership and influencing decisions that shape the future of the UK operation.
