Due to growth within their Laser Applications team, they are looking to recruit a graduate Laser Applications Engineer with a couple of years experience. On a day-to-day basis the Laser Applications Engineer will join a high performing Laboratory team. In this varied role, you will be developing laser micromachining processes for customers as well as running production work for them. You will be working with our state-of-the-art laser systems which have wavelengths from the UV to the IR and pulse durations of femtosecond, picosecond and nanosecond as well as advanced motion control systems. You will need to be a hands-on and highly skilled scientist. Strong expertise in C++, Python, and software development for real-time systems. Experience with ROS or ROS 2, including custom nodes, launch files, and integration with hardware. Experience with embedded software development such as STM32, ESP32, and Arduino. Bonus if you have worked with Pixhawk. Ability to work in field conditions, including support for field testing and sea deployments. Preferred Experience: Domain Experience in maritime, defence, or subsea robotics industries.
