Redwood Publishing Recruitment is pleased to be working with a highly respected international organisation, which is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, Sales Executive, to join the international sales team of their well-respected journal Hydropower & Dams, which covers clean renewable energy and water resources development. The job involves selling advertising space (in print and online) and exhibition space at international events twice a year. Ideally, we are looking for someone with an interest in renewable energy, with a friendly and outgoing personality, and a strong aptitude for communicating with international people. Some experience in publishing sales on an international level (preferably from a similar environment) is important. The ability to speak more than one European language would be an advantage, but even more important is an outgoing and friendly personality to build up good working relationships with clients. The main elements of the position are: Assisting with the sale of display and classified advertisements in the (printed) bi-monthly International Journal on Hydropower & Dams, and their annual reference book. banner advertisements, industry guide logos and other options on the website. small box advertisements on technical maps and posters. exhibition stands and sponsorship for the company's international events. Plus: overhauling and maintaining the company's client database, upgrading it as necessary. helping to keep their Industry Guide (company listings) up to date for the website. helping on site at international exhibitions twice a year (Europe/Africa/Asia). Our client operates a hybrid working system, working a minimum of three days a week in the office (in Wallington, Surrey), and two days at home, so residency in the UK within commuting distance of the office is necessary. We are excited to be working with a lovely award-winning international publisher of children's books, who are looking to recruit a switched-on Contracts Manager to join their busy, friendly contracts team. This is a full-time, permanent position and the role offers hybrid working, with three days in the London office. The Contracts Manager will report to the Head of Contracts and will be responsible for drafting and negotiating author and illustrator contracts as well as other contractual paperwork as required. You will advise the UK editorial team on contractual matters, and advise their international office on contracts, subsidiary rights deals, and permissions. At busy times, the Contracts Manager will draft other types of contracts such as audio, rights contracts and permissions. This is a fabulous opportunity for a Contracts professional with 2+ years' experience, ideally with a children's publisher, with an understanding of copyright law and an awareness of current issue such as AI. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of drafting and negotiation skills, along with experience of working in a similar role within children's publishing. Experience of working with American publishers and agents would be a bonus as would an interest in and understanding of licensed and spin-off products. You will be a team player with great communication skills and possess a sound understanding of copyright and contract law, trademarks, etc. Experience of audio contracts and knowledge of Biblio are highly advantageous as is a strong eye for detail. This role would suit a PhD qualified candidate who is looking for a career in medical publishing.
