Senior Accountant - Europe Location: London Permanent About the Role This leading international reinsurer, are recruiting for a maternity contract, senior level Accountant with a strong background insurance to join a wide team with responsibilities across reporting and FP&A Key Responsibilities Prepare regulatory submissions for European entities including Lloyd's QMA, Solvency UK, US/Canadian Situs, TRIA, NAIC, CBI QRTs, and statutory financial statements Support monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy of transactions and financial disclosure Analyse regional results for management and board reporting Support the regional annual budgeting process Support business partnering to add value across relevant teams Liaise with internal and external auditors Contribute to project work across Finance and wider business teams Requirements Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with demonstrable insurance industry experience (Lloyd's experience preferable) Solid knowledge of US/UK GAAP and regulatory reporting standards Advanced Excel skills with excellent numerical ability Proven problem solving and analytical capabilities Self-motivated with methodical, thorough approach to work What's On Offer Gain valuable multi-jurisdiction regulatory reporting experience within a global reinsurer. Syndicate Financial Controller Location: London Permanent Hybrid About the Role Senior leadership opportunity to join a global leader in risk management as Syndicate Financial Controller. Lead a small Syndicate Accounting team, owning all aspects of syndicate financial close, regulatory reporting, and control framework governance. This role combines technical accounting excellence with strategic leadership, working directly with the Syndicate CFO and senior stakeholders across a complex Lloyd's operation. Key Responsibilities Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for Syndicate, service company, and managing agency, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance Manage general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and escalation of complex accounting issues Partner with Syndicate CFO on financial performance and provide senior stakeholder management across functions Ensure compliance with Lloyd's, FCA/PRA, and Group reporting standards with audit coordination Own and develop the Syndicate Financial Control Framework including process documentation and risk matrices Drive continuous improvement in controls, governance, and process automation opportunities Lead finance requirements through system enhancements and data transformation initiatives Lead, mentor, and develop a team Requirements Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in Lloyd's market Deep knowledge of Lloyd's market including Xchanging, LCA processes, and regulatory landscape Proven team leadership experience with strong management and mentoring capabilities Excellent technical accounting skills with strong attention to detail Experience working with underwriting, claims, and policy administration systems Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency with ability to drive process improvements Strong communication skills with ability to interact at all levels Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team What's On Offer Senior leadership role in a global risk management business with genuine impact on syndicate governance and financial controls.
