This includes recruitment, training, and performance management. Monitor individual and team performance to ensure targets are consistently achieved. Oversee all work undertaken by the Grounds Maintenance Services Team across the district, ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations. Collaborate with staff to continuously improve service quality, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. Ensure operational ICT systems are updated accurately and promptly, with all works recorded, completed, and costed correctly. Assist with broader operational matters, including contract management and renewal of horticultural equipment and machinery. Ensure client KPIs are met, with all tasks delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standard. Provide supervisory cover in the absence of the other Grounds Maintenance Supervisor. Support the Operations Manager in developing innovative, forward-thinking approaches across the service, including the implementation of digital processes. Proven experience in operational/contract management within grounds maintenance. Experience managing the health, safety, and welfare of staff and subcontractors. Groundsperson (Temporary Contract) Location: Vincent Square, London Contract: Temporary - Full Time (40 hours per week) Start Date: October 2025 About the Role Our client is seeking a temporary Groundsperson to join their dedicated team maintaining a prestigious 10-acre playing field at Vincent Square - the largest square in Central London. The site features cricket and football pitches, tennis courts (both tarmac and artificial grass), and an activity area used by younger pupils. Under the supervision of the Head Groundsperson , you will help ensure that all playing surfaces and surrounding areas are maintained to the highest standards. This is a hands-on, rewarding role for someone who enjoys outdoor work, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in creating safe, high-quality sports and recreation spaces. Key Responsibilities As part of the grounds team, your duties will include: Performing general grounds maintenance: mowing, strimming, hedge trimming, and weeding. Carrying out horticultural tasks including ground preparation, turfing, seeding, and pruning. Setting up and dismantling sports equipment, ensuring it is maintained to a high standard. Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays on a rota basis. A relevant qualification in horticulture or groundskeeping (e.g., NVQ Level 2) and PA1/PA6 spraying certification would be advantageous but not essential.
