Part-Time Accounts Assistant (Experienced) Location: Newton Aycliffe Start Date: February (or sooner) Salary: £25,000 per annum Contract: Permanent Working Hours & Flexibility: This is a part-time role (20-24 hours per week) with flexible working arrangements, either: 5-part days per week, or 3 full days per week RMS Recruitment are seeking an experienced and highly capable part-time accounts professional to take full responsibility for the day-to-day accounts function of our client s construction business. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently and confidently lead the accounts side of the company. About the Role: Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for managing the accounts function in its entirety, including close liaison with our commercial and construction teams. Key responsibilities will include: Day-to-day bookkeeping and reconciliation using Xero Verifying and submitting CIS and PAYE Preparation and submission of VAT returns Processing payments and issuing remittances Purchase ledger reconciliation Producing financial reports and updates for Directors Supporting and liaising with the commercial/construction team as required About You: Proven experience in a similar accounts role, ideally within construction or a related sector Strong working knowledge of Xero Confident handling CIS, PAYE, and VAT Highly organised with excellent attention to detail Able to work independently and take ownership of the accounts function Strong communication skills and comfortable reporting to senior management If you are an experienced accounts professional looking for a flexible, autonomous role within a growing business, we would be keen to hear from you.
