Due to continued growth, our client is looking for Buyer s Admin Assistant to join their busy team. Working with a superb range of tableware and interiors this role is a customer facing role, and alongside the Buyer and National Account Manager, they are looking for someone who is confident in attending face to face meetings at the head offices of large multi-national retailers, in front of key and senior contacts. This might suit a graduate (business, art, fashion or design related subject) looking for their first admin role. You will be responsible for overseeing the whole product lifestyle and ensuring key dates adhered to. This is initially an administrative role, however there is huge scope to take on more responsibility in line with the rapid and exciting growth of the company. Key responsibilities -Working with some of the UK largest retailers on own label seasonal and core range product development. -Alongside the Buyer and National Account Manager, attending meetings at the head offices of large multi-national retailers, in front of key and senior contacts. -Update costing sheets accurately to submit to customers for sign off. -Critical path management, ensuring all key dates are adhered to. -Updating weekly progress trackers and submitting to customers. -Sample management, including tracking, unpacking/packing and sending to customers. -Liaising with our Far East sourcing offices to obtain samples, provide feedback and resolve queries. -Complete new line spreadsheets, raise PO s and keeping internal systems up to date. Ideal skills and attributes -Previous experience within or have worked closely with a product development or buying team (desirable). -Understanding of critical paths and seasonal range development (desirable). -An interest in seasonal trends, interiors and housewares would be an advantage. Essential skills and attributes -Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Outlook. -Keen attention to detail and accuracy. -Strong verbal and written communications skills. -Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. -Capable of thriving in fast paced environments. -Methodical and organised. Our client is currently based in temporary accomodation in Evesham but will be relocationig within either Evesham or Worcester area. Candidate will need to live within the locality of either area. Buyer & Product Developer Worcestershire, Permanent, Full time office based. Salary c£40K depending on experience. This is an exciting time as they have experienced strong growth and have new exciting clients and product ranges to work with. Our client specialises in supplying tableware and homewares to high end stores. In this role you would be working alongside the Senior Buying and Product Development Team to source, cost out, buy and create new ranges. Therefore product development as well as buying are key responsibilities for this role and experience of both will be necessary. Key Responsibilities Working with the senior buying, design team and external teams collaboratively to create exciting new product ranges in various houseware categories, including kitchenware and tableware. Complete regular range reviews, refining product offering based on customer feedback, sales and trend. Ability to analyse complex data to drive decisions and strategies Drive the creative process from initial concept to end product, creating and maintaining the brand vision. Analyse quotes, confidently negotiate pricing with suppliers in line with company margin requirements. Critical path management, ensuring all key dates are adhered to. Liaising closely with the design team on writing new briefs and packaging specifications. Sample review and management, including tracking, unpacking, and identifying areas for improvement. Liaising with external teams and Far East sourcing offices to obtain samples, provide feedback and resolve queries. Present new concepts and range reviews internally to senior level, and externally to license holders and customers. Online and in-store product research, analysing trends and identifying range opportunities. Working with the Far East sourcing team and UK warehouse to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders. Sourcing new supply routes around Europe and Asia. Identifying quality standards and ensuring that all products meet those standards. Working closely with a Buyer s Admin Assistant, including management and coaching. Follow all health and safety procedures, company policies and operational standards. Skills Previous experience within a product development or buying team - Essential Good knowledge of homewares/tableware or a keen interest in this area Knowledge of buying and supplying products to retailers Knowledge of sourcing ceramic tableware from outside of China desirable Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Outlook essential. Keen attention to detail and accuracy Strong verbal, written communication and negotiation skills Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously Capable of thriving in fast paced environments Methodical, analytical and organised Trend aware and insightful of competitor activity Salary will be negotiable depending on experience.
