Embedded Software Engineer (Hybrid) Offering £45,000 - £50,000 Basic Salary plus Excellent Benefits! Our client is an established global engineering business, currently recruiting an Embedded Software Engineer to join their established team based in North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will take ownership of the development of firmware and software for our client s product portfolio. The Embedded Software Engineer role will be split into two functions: DevOps, and New Product Development. DevOps You will develop new embedded system software variants which tailor the product for customer needs. You will work with the Technical Support Engineers to determine and implement specifications with customers. You will be required to manage your workload, ensuring that stakeholders are aware of the development process. New Product Development You will leverage your understanding of the products gained from your DevOps function to develop a system that maximises configurability and robustness of the products. This function will have you creating new algorithms, functions, protocols, etc. You may be required to develop native Windows applications to interface with the products and any new firmware that you may create. Embedded Software Engineer Role Purpose To translate project requirements into technical capabilities and outputs. Work with the relevant stakeholders to create new variant specifications and determine appropriate time schedules, and ultimately ensuring it is technologically realisable. With the project manager, monitor and report on progress of all allocated tasks. Maintaining code as well as its effective storage. Ensure that any outputs are appropriate and have been verified accordingly. Embedded Software Engineer Skills & Experienced Experienced Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++ programming). Understanding of Atmel and Microchip environment and MCUs. Extensive debugging skills. Appreciation of embedded system hardware design and PCB design. Ability to understand component/product Technical Data Sheets. Ability to analyse complex data and identify trends. Decision making experience and capability. Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Embedded Software Engineer position is offering £45,000 - £55,000 basic salary plus excellent benefits. Application Engineer Location: North Yorkshire Offering Circa. £35,000 - £45,000 Basic Salary plus Great Benefits! Our client is an established and well respected manufacturing company. This is a full-time, permanent position, based on site at their North Yorkshire office. Application Engineer Key Responsibilities Application Engineer s play a critical role in providing expertise and support to our client s customers. Throughout a customer s journey, the Application Engineer will coordinate with internal and external colleagues and departments to tailor existing products into solutions that meet agreed objectives and expectations. Interfacing with our client s UK & International sales team. As the Application Engineer, you may be needed to support sales in accurately and effectively capturing the customer s requirements from a technical perspective which will help create a technical concept. The successful completion of this phase will allow the business to plan effectively. Once a sales order has been placed, the Application Engineer will be required to translating a customer s technical concept into a tangible solution, supporting the implementation process, liaise with cross-functional teams to allow the manufacturing or procurement teams to fulfil the necessary activities, and provide technical oversight and sign-off of any mass-production or solution. Once the solution has been manufactured, the Application Engineer may be required to provide technical customer support to internal and external functions, such as: customer s production lines, quality assurance, etc. On occasion, the successful candidate will be required to travel to client site to answer technical queries or review product implementation. Throughout this whole process, you will be focused on ensuring our client s solutions are, of high quality and meet all safety standards, can be delivered to agreed timeframes and are within customers agreed budget. Application Engineer Candidate STEM related Degree is preferred Understanding of Automotive, mechanical, and electrical engineering domains CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks skills designing mechanical or electrical solutions. Be an effective communicator who is comfortable liaising with customers to better understand their pain points and identify best fit solution. With strong Microsoft skills, able to create detailed and presentable customer-facing technical documentation.
