This role is suitable for someone that already has experience working in planning enforcement and is interested in managing a mixed and varied portfolio of enforcement cases. If appointed at Enforcement Officer level, this career grade post provides the opportunity to progress to senior level, working on more complex cases. The Role - Responsible for managing a varied workload of Enforcement cases (including more complex cases depending on experience).- At senior level, supervising and mentoring more junior staff.- Supporting the Enforcement Team Leader to drive forward service improvements. - Effective delivery of high-quality service outputs that meet policy and corporate objectives. About you - Excellent working knowledge of relevant planning legislation and regulations relating to Development Management and Planning Enforcement.- Experience of managing a wide range of enforcement cases. - Experience of carefully and rigorously investigating planning control.- Ability to influence and communicate effectively both with colleagues and a wide range of others, including representatives from legal firms, members of the public, legal/estates professionals, developers and landowners to achieve required outcomes. - Experience of working collaboratively with others to organise workloads and resolve problems. - Good IT skills and the ability to research case law and good practice What we can offer you - Flexible working arrangements - Local government pension scheme- 26 - 29 days' annual leave, rising to 33 days with five years of local government service In line with their pay policy, EHC will review the application of the Market Forces Supplement annually, and if warranted, will make adjustments in liaison with affected staff.
