This is a great opportunity for an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join a supportive team managing a varied private sector caseload, with a strong focus on enforcement activity. The Role You will be responsible for managing a diverse workload within the private rented sector, with key duties including: Carrying out property inspections across the borough Investigating housing disrepair cases and tenant complaints Undertaking enforcement action in line with housing legislation Handling complaints and liaising with landlords and tenants Issuing Civil Penalties and supporting wider housing enforcement work Preparing case files and supporting regulatory compliance activity This role would suit an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer who is confident managing inspections, complaints, and enforcement cases within a Local Authority setting. About You To be considered, you should have: An HND in Environmental Health (or a similar qualification), or 3+ years' experience in housing enforcement Experience issuing Civil Penalties or undertaking regulatory action in the private rented sector Strong knowledge of housing legislation and inspection processes Excellent communication skills when dealing with tenants, landlords, and stakeholders HMO Licensing Officers with relevant experience will also be considered, with training available on the enforcement side. This is a hybrid role, working from the office in Stratford two days a week and agile for three days. Supporting the Neighbourhood Officers and Area Manager to deliver a first class customer experience to residents. You will be supporting the North West London team so a knowledge of this area would be beneficial. Duties include. Provide administrative assistant to the team, ensuring KPI's are met.
