The Role We are a well-regarded residential home based in Littlehampton, currently seeking a reliable and compassionate Day Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. As a Day Care Assistant, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care to the residents, ensuring their individual needs are met with dignity, empathy, and respect. You will play a vital role in promoting a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment throughout the night. The care team is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of those they support. Key Responsibilities: Assist residents with night-time routines, including preparing for bed and morning wake-up support. Provide personal care as required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times. Carry out regular checks on residents throughout the night, responding to any needs promptly. Administer appropriate support with continence care, following care plans and protocols. Monitor and record any changes in residents' conditions and report to senior staff. Respond promptly and efficiently to call bells and resident needs. Assist in repositioning residents as needed to prevent discomfort and pressure sores. Maintain a calm and reassuring presence, providing emotional support when required. Ensure the home remains clean, tidy, and hazard-free throughout the night. Comply with all safeguarding policies and procedures. Be aware of and adhere to the Emergency Plan and Fire Procedures. Complete all required documentation and handover reports for the day staff. Follow care plan updates, system communications, and instructions from senior staff. Undertake all mandatory training and any additional training as required for professional development. Always uphold residents' confidentiality and the organisation's policies. This is a varied and hands-on role responsible for maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-presented environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. Working closely with the Properties and Facilities Manager, you will undertake day-to-day maintenance, repairs, compliance checks, and facilities support duties, helping to ensure the home operates safely, efficiently, and in line with all relevant regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks throughout the care home. Ensure the building, grounds, equipment, and facilities are maintained to a high standard.
