As a member of our in-house repairs team, you'll respond to customers' needs by carrying out minor repairs within their homes. We're looking for someone with experience across multiple trades, enabling us to complete most jobs in a single visit and deliver a more efficient service to our customers. A Typical Week as a Multi- skilled Trades Person You'll start the week by maintaining van stock to ensure you have the right materials on hand, reducing downtime and unnecessary trips to suppliers. You'll carry out Joinery work-ranging from skirting/architrave, kitchen removal/fitting, repairing or replacing all timber elements, to resealing windows and doors, and ensuring fixtures are secure and weather-tight. You'll attend other scheduled appointments in our customers' homes around other trades to carry out minor repairs-anything from fixing a broken door, an uneven skirting board or patching plasterwork. You'll ensure all work is completed safely, using appropriate PPE, dust sheets, and overshoes to protect the property and show respect to the customer. Communication is key-you'll regularly update planners, team leaders, and colleagues using our housing management system, ensuring accurate records and keeping customers informed. Carry out dynamic risk assessments on-site and report any unsafe conditions immediately. You'll always stay alert and report anything that doesn't seem right-whether it's a safeguarding concern, signs of tenancy fraud, or issues like damp and mould. You'll support estate-wide maintenance tasks, such as brickwork repairs or external groundworks. You'll visit void properties to carry out improvement works-this could include joinery, plumbing, or groundworks. You'll participate in the out-of-hours rota, responding to emergency repairs across our properties. What Skills and Experience will you need as a Multi- skilled Trades Person? Strong experience in Joinery is essential Experience in other trades, i.e plumbing, plastering, flooring, tiling is highly desirable A minimum of 2 years' experience in the repairs of domestic properties An awareness of health and safety considerations within a domestic property (i.e. Asbestos, working around customers, working at heights & electrics) The ability to use PDA/iPad and other electronic communication devices The ability to interpret a job type from a handheld device and carry out those tasks in a timely manner The ability to communicate on regular basis with team leaders and planners to ensure work is carried out and completed to the highest possible standard Must have a full valid, clean driving license What's in It for You?
