Production Operator Location: Burnroot Sawmill, Aboyne Contract: Full time, permanent. About the role: We are looking for a Production Operator to join our busy Sawmill. You will be part of a team responsible for creating a range of timber products as well as moving, sorting and packing timber. Whilst a lot of the tasks are automated, there will be some degree of manual handling, lifting, bending and twisting. No previous experience is required as full training will be given. Hours of work: 47.5 hrs per week, 07:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday, with 30 minute unpaid lunch Key tasks and responsibilities: Ensuring good housekeeping of workstations Operating sawmilling machinery Adhering to all Health, Safety and Quality standards and instructions Operation of Mobile Plant Vehicles Working towards set production targets Manual handling of timber Skills and Experience: Good communication skills Ability to work well in a team to achieve production goals and meet required standards. You must have a means of transport that will allow you to arrive on site before your shift commences (minimum ten minutes before start). We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic production operator to join our manufacturing team. You are required to work a two-shift rotating shift pattern. One week working Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00 following week working 14:00 to 22:00. The role involves working within a team as a machine operator. Full training will be given. Training will involve working with and alongside your appointed training mentor who will deliver a full training programme that includes health and safety requirements within the workplace, machine operation and quality control. Your skill base must include good communication, the ability to work in a team and hold strong health and safety values. Health and safety forms a large part of the culture at James Jones.
