Vessel Mooring Operative Quayside An opportunity has arisen for a Vessel Mooring Operative (VMO) based at our Aberdeen Quayside. The VMO is responsibe for all tie-up, berthing and let go of vessels in accordance with Peterson policies and procedures. The VMO ensures compliance with all relevant company work intructions for each job function and will have the ability to plan and organise all berthing operations, dealing effectively with changing priorities. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate good communication skills, a strong focus on customer satisfaction, the ability to promote good team working and an excellent awareness of health and safety. Knowledge and experience of quayside operations, including berthing and mooring operations are required. OPITO Banksman Slinger and RTITB Forklift certificates are desirable. A vacancy has arisen for a Ships Agent to support vessel operations across the Southern North Sea region and beyond. Based in Great Yarmouth, this role is responsible for coordinating port calls and offshore logistics for supply vessels, subsea construction vessels, ERRVs, tankers, and specialist project tonnage operating within the UK Continental Shelf. The successful candidate will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient vessel turnaround while acting as the primary liaison between the vessel, port authorities, offshore operators, and service providers. The role includes managing all pre-arrival, arrival and departure arrangements at Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth and other North Sea ports. Coordinating pilotage, towage, berthing and port services in line with harbour authority requirements as well as supporting crew changes, mob/demobilisations and supply vessel rotations. The role also involves ensuring compliance with UK Border Force, MCS, Port Health and HMRC regulations as well as preparing port cost estimates, managing disbursement accounts and verifying supplier invoices. The successful candidate should have a strong knowledge of UK maritime regulations and customs processes. They can demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence within the North Sea offshore environment and have excellent communication and organisational skills. Flexibility to work nights and weekends where required and a Full UK driving Licence is also required for this role. We currently have vacancy for a Base Operative to support operations at our Heysham facility. Duties will include but not limited to loading and discharging trailers and containers, lifting operations, checking materials and maintaining yard and warehouse cleanliness. Applicants will have experience of operating a forklift up to 12 tonne and working in a similar role. An OPITO approved Banksman/Slinger certificate is also highly desirable, but not essential as training will be provided. The successful candidate will have a focus on delivering good customer service as well as a commitment to health and safety. Communication skills are also important in this safety critical role. SAP and stock checking experience is desirable but not essential The successful candidate will also be required to support the duty call out rota (1 week out of 3).
