They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting eight long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances. The Role: You will report directly to the Regional Operations Director, and you will have full accountability for the successful delivery of a high-value, high risk project near Southampton involving multi stakeholders, delivered under NEC4 contracts, alliance frameworks, or joint ventures. You will drive the integration of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a complex water treatment facilities and related infrastructure. From early-stage design through to commissioning and handover, your leadership will be key to achieving best-in-class outcomes across programme, cost, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance Responsibilities: Strategic Project Leadership Provide overall direction and strategic leadership for large-scale design & build water projects, aligning delivery with client and regulatory requirements (e.g., Ofwat, EA, DWI). Define and execute project delivery strategies, construction methodologies, and governance structures. Lead integrated design and delivery teams, ensuring collaboration between engineering, construction, commercial, commissioning and environmental functions. Design Management & Technical Assurance. Oversee early-stage design development, feasibility studies, optioneering, and value engineering. Ensure robust technical solutions that meet asset performance, sustainability, and regulatory requirements. Champion the use of digital design tools (e.g. BIM Level 2+, Common Data Environments) and ensure design buildability. Construction Delivery & Programme Control. Drive the execution of construction works through effective planning, contractor coordination, and performance management. Ensure alignment of construction activities with design intent, project milestones, and safety protocols. Maintain visibility on critical path activities, commissioning schedules, and final handover to operations teams. Commercial & Contract Management. Full accountability for budget management and cost control across all project phases. Administer D&B contracts (typically NEC3/NEC4) and manage risk allocation, change control, and dispute resolution. Lead commercial negotiations, procurement strategy, and contractor/supplier engagement. Stakeholder Engagement & Client Interface. Act as the senior representative to clients, framework partners, statutory bodies, and key internal stakeholders. Build and maintain trusted relationships with Water Companies, Joint Venture partners, and delivery consortia. Lead stakeholder forums, site tours, community engagement, and client reporting. Experience: Essential Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering or a related field. Extensive experience as a Project Manager and strong experience as a Project Director or equivalent leadership role Strong understanding of UK water sector frameworks (e.g., AMP7/AMP8), CDM 2015, and regulatory bodies (Ofwat, EA, DWI) High-level strategic thinking and the ability to deliver complex projects under time, budget, and regulatory pressure. Leadership of integrated design and construction teams across multidisciplinary project environments. Deep commercial knowledge including NEC3/NEC4 contracts, alliance models, and risk management. Strong technical acumen with the ability to challenge and guide design and engineering solutions. Excellent stakeholder management and communication at board, JV, and operational levels. Desirable: Chartered Engineer (CEng), MICE, MIET, or equivalent professional membership. Experience working within or alongside major water companies (e.g. Thames, Severn Trent, Anglian, United Utilities). The Role: You will report directly to the Operations Manager/Framework Director, and you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of a multi-million pound water treatment project. Ensuring consistency with company strategy by planning and evaluating project activities, within the time required and within the tender estimate without risk to the health and safety of all concerned while ensuring good customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted work force. Ensuring that the BMS is implemented at all stages throughout the project delivery process, from tender handover to final completion Maintain good client relationships at all levels Maintain the company's reputation on the project by ensuring good relationships are maintained with joint venture partners and suppliers Ensuring that sufficient trained personnel are available for the project and that they are aware of their individual responsibilities Planning the project, including reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and then monitoring and controlling the delivery of the project Ensuring that appropriately detailed construction plans and method statements are prepared, in place and approved prior to commencement of activities Ensuring at contract completion that all records referred to in the PEP are complete and available Ensuring that all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs identified Ensure all commercial aspects of the project are managed in a timely and proactive way giving accurate forecast and estimates Understanding and implementing the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets Being aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers' perception and satisfaction Maintain an appropriate practical knowledge and appreciation of all technical disciplines associated with delivering water treatment design and build projects. Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance Experience: Essential Project Management experience in managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally within the water industry. Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering related discipline. Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients, stakeholders, and end users. Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives. Position: Environment and Sustainability Manager Location: Peterborough with hybrid working available Salary Guide: £50-62k (Neg DOE), Car/Allowance and excellent benefits package Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. The Alliance is set to deliver a record £2.6 billion of the water company's overall investment in AMP8, with much of this work specifically targeted at protecting and enhancing the East of England's natural environment and providing resilience to climate change. This investment portfolio forms part of Anglian Water's wider, record £9 billion proposed plans for AMP8, which will see a huge programme of much-needed investment between 2025 and 2030. The Role: Our client is looking to strengthen their SHEQ team. You will report directly to the SHEA Manager and the role is to ensure overall compliance with environmental legislation and the environmental standards held within Alliance, and to drive sustainable working practices during construction. The Environment and Sustainability Manager manages a team of Environment and Sustainability Advisors, providing support and guidance to the different functional teams and driving continuous improvement and best practice Responsibilities: Provide support to construction projects on environmental issues, including assisting with document production and review as necessary. Develop and drive sustainable working practices during construction. Consult with environmental regulators and key stakeholders when required. Work collaboratively across Alliance contract to ensure requirements of the AMS are delivered at appropriate DM stages. Working closely with Enabling providing technical input into mitigation measures at pre-construction stage and providing guidance on environmental constraints and risks. Help ensure Environmental information is communicated effectively between the Enabling Team, Environment and Sustainability Advisors and the Construction Teams. Review and update Environmental information within the AMS. Ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and promote best practices relevant Alliance. Analyse current and future legislation requirements upon the business and identifying solutions to ensure continued compliance in conjunction with Partner Organisations. Undertake the annual management review. Manage and updating the NCR log for environmental issues. Represent and Alliance Environmental Management at key Forums.
