My client is currently looking for a Machinist / Toolmaker to join their small friendly team on a permanent basis. Based in Barrow upon Soar, they supports various sectors in their mechanical engineering and machining requirements, producing one offs, small batches, prototypes, repairs and refurbishments. A strong mechanical engineering background is essential due to the varied work undertaken. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes. Experience to include: Milling Turning Read and interpret engineering drawings Work to tight tolerances Carry out own inspection Desirable: Boring Surface grinding Assembly Welding / Light Fabrication. Fork Lift Outline of Job Duties: To manufacture high quality components in an efficient manufacture, to drawing specifications with minimum supervision. Use engineering knowledge to reverse engineer and find solutions to solve engineering problems. Quality check own work to ensure high quality parts are manufactured. Contribute to the housekeeping of the workshops, maintaining tidy and clean work areas. Work in an ethical and professional manner at all times as a representative of the company. Flexibility to use other relevant skills and abilities as required. Effective communication with colleagues, customers and project teams. High standards of reliability and punctuality. Good organisational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure. Ability to work using own initiative as well as operate as part of a team. A flexible approach to respond to the demands of the business. Hours of work: 39 per week. Part time would be considered. We are looking for a dedicated Waste Management Operative to join our client, initially for 3 months, based out of Whetstone The role involves operating loading shovels and other plant equipment at waste sites, ensuring the delivery of a safe and efficient service. This position is key to maintaining the sites and contributing to the benefit of the people of Leicestershire. Day to day of the role: Operate loading shovel and plant, including loading vehicles and managing waste. Engage with internal and external site users, maintaining positive and cooperative working relationships. Ensure activities are delivered efficiently and effectively. Receive deliveries, check records for compliance, and operate safely on site. Maintain accurate and current paper-based and electronic records. Use equipment and systems, including the weighbridge, to ensure site safety and efficiency. Operate telehandler and baler (once trained) to load/unload products on site. • Sort, clean, compact, or shred waste as required using various equipment. Load outgoing vehicles to specification and document accurately. Maintain a clean and tidy work environment. Assist with site user inductions and promote safe site usage. Adhere to health and safety, quality, and environmental management systems. Support new team members and help them understand processes and procedures. Identify opportunities to improve customer service and recycling rates. Support the achievement of all service levels. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in operating loading shovels and plant equipment, or willingness to be trained. Good communication skills and the ability to engage cooperatively with team members and site users. Attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and compliance.
